Presurance Holdings, Inc. insures individuals’ lower-value homes in Texas, Illinois and Indiana, with most business concentrated in Texas. Policyholders pay premiums for coverage, and its insurance subsidiaries pay covered claims. Homeowners insurance supplies most premium revenue; the company also earns investment income. It has stopped writing commercial insurance but continues handling obligations from existing policies. After selling Conifer Insurance Services (CIS), it no longer earns agency commissions or related policy fees.
All homeowners business comes through Sycamore Specialty Underwriters (SSU), an independent agency authorized to write policies within Presurance’s guidelines. Agents collect premiums and forward them to the insurance subsidiaries. SSU controls where it places this business and can move it to other insurers, making Presurance dependent on one distribution partner. Presurance also relies on SSU and CIS for underwriting, claims and systems support.
Insufficient regulatory capital significantly restricts how much insurance its subsidiaries can write. Triassic Insurance Company must follow a remediation plan under additional regulatory monitoring; failure to restore compliance could lead to limits on, or loss of, its authority to sell insurance.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Presurance’s results hinge on Texas homeowners losses, constrained capital and legacy commercial reserves, while Sycamore Specialty Underwriters controls placement of its entire remaining homeowners book.
Universal and Presurance both rely mainly on premiums from homeowners, so residential claims costs and rates that cover those costs matter to both companies’ profits. Watch whether Universal’s homeowners premiums cover claims and the costs of selling and servicing policies.
Heritage and Presurance both collect premiums to insure residential properties, leaving both exposed to homeowners pricing, rising repair costs and the cost of protection against catastrophe losses. Heritage’s residential insurance pricing and the cost of transferring losses to other insurers through reinsurance offer useful comparisons for Presurance.
American Integrity and Presurance both collect premiums from homeowners to cover homes and dwellings, but their local markets differ. American Integrity’s Florida-focused pricing and claims provide a comparison, not a direct read on Presurance’s Texas-centered business.
HCI Group and Presurance both earn insurance revenue from homeowners coverage, so home claims and repair costs matter to both. Focus on HCI’s homeowners insurance results rather than its other businesses, while keeping its Florida-centered exposure distinct from Presurance’s Texas concentration.
Travelers sells homeowners insurance in Presurance’s operating markets, making it a larger-carrier comparison for the prices homeowners pay and residential claims trends. Watch its homeowners business rather than its broader insurance results when comparing it with Presurance.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
For Presurance, the Fed’s policy rate—the benchmark that influences borrowing costs and investment yields—can change income on new or reinvested assets and the cost of servicing its 9.75% senior notes.

If it comes in above expectations
If the Fed sets a higher-than-expected rate, new borrowing and debt that reprices may cost more, potentially leaving Presurance with less cash to meet obligations; higher yields on new or reinvested assets could partly offset that pressure over time.
If it comes in below expectations
If the Fed sets a lower-than-expected rate, new borrowing and debt that reprices may cost less, potentially easing Presurance’s cash burden; lower yields on new or reinvested assets could reduce investment income.

Presurance Holdings’ report will show whether premiums from the homeowners business it places through Sycamore can cover claims and operating costs and reduce underwriting losses.
Read homeowners premiums alongside underwriting losses—the amount claims and related costs exceed premiums. Stable or higher premiums with narrower losses would show that this book, concentrated in Texas and placed entirely through Sycamore, is covering claims and operating costs better. Weaker premiums or wider losses would show that limited scale and concentrated risk still burden underwriting.
