Company

Company overview

PharmaCyte Biotech, Inc. focuses on treatments for locally advanced pancreatic cancer, particularly for patients whose tumors no longer respond to existing chemotherapy. Its CypCaps candidate uses Cell-in-a-Box technology to enclose genetically engineered human cells in porous cellulose capsules. The proposed treatment combines these encapsulated cells with low-dose ifosfamide, a chemotherapy drug.

The company has no approved products and generates no revenue; it has funded operations mainly by selling equity securities. If its pancreatic cancer treatment receives approval, it plans to license it to a larger pharmaceutical company rather than build its own sales operation. Commercial sales would also depend on government and private health payors covering the treatment and providing adequate reimbursement.

The planned pancreatic cancer trial remains on FDA clinical hold and cannot begin until the agency lifts it. Development spending has been curtailed while the board reviews the programs and its relationship with SG Austria. Austrianova is the sole manufacturer of its candidates and controls the proprietary encapsulation process; PharmaCyte says it may be unable to replace that supplier.

PharmaCyte also holds securities in Femasys and Q/C Technologies, which account for a substantial share of its assets.

Beyond its concentrated investments, PharmaCyte Biotech's therapy prospects depend on the FDA lifting its clinical hold and on Austrianova/SG Austria, its sole-source cell-encapsulation manufacturer and holder of essential technology know-how.

  • Femasys Inc.'s performance directly affects PharmaCyte Biotech's financial condition through its holdings of Femasys shares and rights to buy more shares, or warrants, within a portfolio that accounts for a substantial concentration of its assets. Watch sales of fertility devices FemaSeed, FemVue and FemSperm to U.S. gynecologists and infertility specialists; patients often pay providers directly because insurance coverage varies.

  • Q/C Technologies, Inc.'s financial performance matters to PharmaCyte Biotech through its holdings of Q/C preferred shares and rights to buy shares, or warrants, within a portfolio that accounts for a substantial concentration of its assets, despite their unrelated operating businesses. Q/C's main focus is laser-based computing for cryptocurrency, blockchain infrastructure and distributed AI computing, making progress in that business relevant to PharmaCyte's investment rather than its cancer therapy.

  • Propanc Biopharma, Inc.'s experimental PRP treatment and PharmaCyte Biotech's Cell-in-a-Box program both pursue pancreatic cancer, putting them in the same prospective treatment market. Propanc had no revenue in the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026; watch PRP's progress through preclinical development, clinical trials and regulatory review rather than product sales.
