Company

Company overview

Envista Holdings Corporation supplies dentists with products used to replace missing teeth, straighten teeth and diagnose dental conditions. Implant and orthodontic products generate most of its sales, including NobelActive implants and Spark clear aligners. It sells these products mainly directly to the professionals who use them.

The company also supplies dental practices with imaging equipment, including the DEXIS OP 3D system, and everyday treatment supplies, mainly through distributors. Across the business, consumables, services and spare parts account for the large majority of sales rather than equipment. Henry Schein is its largest customer and an important distribution partner, but Envista has no current master distribution agreement with it in the United States and Canada, and purchases are not guaranteed.

Demand for some treatments depends on patients’ willingness and ability to pay out of pocket for elective dental care. Most Envista products are regulated medical devices, and FDA clearances permit marketing only for their labeled uses.

Envista's results hinge on demand for dental procedures and competition in implants and orthodontics, making Straumann an important rival to watch even though it is absent from this list.

  • Dentsply Sirona competes with Envista for dental professionals' spending on dental products, technology and implant systems, so both are exposed to treatment volumes and dentists' purchasing. Its dental equipment and consumables business is worth watching for signs of that spending.

  • Align Technology competes with Envista's Spark aligners and orthodontic products by selling Invisalign clear aligners to the same dental professionals. Watch its clear-aligner revenue for a read on treatment demand and rivalry: that segment accounted for approximately 80% of its worldwide net revenues in 2025.

  • Envista depends on Henry Schein as a buyer and dental-supply distributor: it accounted for approximately 12% of Envista's sales in 2025, while also competing in implants and materials used to regenerate dental tissue. Watch its sales of supplies and equipment to dental practices for a read on purchasing demand that matters to Envista.

  • Solventum competes with Envista for dental professionals' purchases of brackets, aligners, restorative cements and bonding agents. Watch its Dental Solutions sales rather than overall results for the closer comparison: dental products accounted for only 16.2% of Solventum's total sales in 2025.
