Nanobiotix S.A. is a late-stage clinical biotechnology company focused on JNJ-1900 (NBTXR3), an investigational treatment intended to make radiotherapy more effective. The treatment involves injecting nanoparticles directly into a tumor before radiotherapy. When exposed to radiation, the particles are designed to increase energy absorption in cancer cells and amplify radiation’s destructive effect.
Janssen holds exclusive worldwide commercialization rights and is Nanobiotix’s sole principal revenue customer. License-related and development services account for most revenue; Nanobiotix also supplies Janssen with product for clinical trials and provides manufacturing technology-transfer support. These are partnership revenues, not commercial treatment sales. The agreements also provide for milestone payments and royalties on future sales, but Nanobiotix has not yet earned commercial milestones or sales royalties.
The business depends heavily on Janssen advancing the treatment through trials and bringing it to market. Commercial sales require the relevant regulatory approvals, and demand would depend on physician acceptance and insurer or government reimbursement. Janssen’s exclusive rights also limit Nanobiotix’s freedom to pursue additional cancer-indication studies or partnerships.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Nanobiotix depends heavily on Johnson & Johnson: its Janssen business pays for rights to JNJ-1900 (NBTXR3), clinical supplies and services, and controls the candidate’s development and worldwide commercialization. Watch J&J’s trial progress for this treatment designed to amplify radiotherapy’s effect, since Nanobiotix’s potential milestone payments and sales royalties depend on its progress.
Alpha Tau Medical competes with Nanobiotix to improve local treatment of solid tumors: Alpha DaRT places radioactive sources inside tumors, while Nanobiotix injects particles that amplify subsequent radiotherapy. Watch Alpha DaRT’s clinical results; Alpha Tau had no product-sales revenue through December 31, 2025, so this remains a contest between treatments in development, not established product sales.
Pyxis Oncology competes with Nanobiotix over head and neck cancer treatment choices, but says Nanobiotix’s radiation-enhancing treatment could be used earlier in the treatment sequence than its MICVO candidate. Watch MICVO’s clinical outcomes in head and neck cancer: Pyxis is concentrating development resources on this antibody-linked drug while pausing other programs.
Alpha Tau Medical Ltd. earningsDRTS
Alpha Tau Medical’s report can show whether its Alpha DaRT treatment for solid tumors is advancing, offering a comparison with Nanobiotix’s approach of enhancing radiotherapy.
Look for Alpha Tau’s disclosures on Alpha DaRT trial progress and data. Progress would show that this local-treatment approach is advancing too, keeping a potential competing option in view for Nanobiotix; setbacks could ease that pressure. The treatments differ, and trial progress alone cannot show which one doctors or patients will choose.
