Mama’s Creations supplies prepared foods for U.S. retailers’ deli counters, hot bars and refrigerated meal sections. Its MamaMancini’s brand includes Italian foods such as meatballs, while T&L Creative Salads and Olive Branch broaden its offering into salads, olives and other deli foods. It buys ingredients from suppliers and makes almost all its products itself, allowing retailers to buy several kinds of prepared food from one supplier.
Retail chains and food distributors pay for the products. Commission-based brokers handle most sales, with shipments going to retailers’ warehouses or large distributors before reaching stores. Despite nationwide distribution, two customers together account for most sales, making their purchasing decisions especially important. Production and marketing must comply with U.S. food regulations, including FDA and USDA requirements governing manufacturing, safety, packaging and labeling.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Mama's Creations' results depend more on winning and retaining large retail deli accounts and managing protein costs than on these peers, with two customers accounting for 55% of gross revenue.
Bridgford Foods Corp shares Mama's Creations' exposure to U.S. retail demand for convenient meat foods, meat costs and promotions: both manufacture products for supermarkets and mass retailers, but Bridgford emphasizes shelf-stable snacks rather than fresh deli meals. Watch its beef jerky and dry-sausage business for clues to demand in that neighboring category, not as a direct read on Mama's deli sales.
Mama's Creations, Inc. earningsThis company
Mama's Creations' report will show whether sales of its prepared deli foods and olives can keep pace with ingredient costs and protect its gross margin.
Read sales growth alongside gross margin, the share of sales left after product costs. Sales growth with a steady margin would show that volume or pricing is covering ingredient and production costs. Slower sales or a falling margin would show that demand or cost recovery is lagging, squeezing the profit left from Mama’s products.
