LG Display supplies the screens that customers build into finished products, rather than selling those products itself. Panels for notebooks, monitors and tablets, together with mobile and other panels, bring in most of its revenue; smartphones dominate the latter category. It also supplies television and automotive panels. OLED panels now generate most of its revenue, and it has stopped producing TFT-LCD television panels while continuing to make LCD panels for other uses.
The company negotiates prices and quantities with end-product brands, including LG Electronics, but often delivers panels to—and sometimes invoices—the assemblers those brands designate. Most sales come from purchase orders placed only a few weeks before delivery. Customer forecasts help it plan production but do not guarantee orders. Sales are highly concentrated: one unnamed customer supplies a majority of revenue, and LG Electronics and its affiliates are another material source.
Earnings depend on customer orders keeping costly factories busy and on manufacturing costs falling fast enough to keep pace with declining panel prices. Industry overcapacity gives customers more leverage over prices. LG Display also needs third-party technology licenses for certain production processes; losing access to those licenses could prevent it from making or selling key products.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
For LG Display, watch OLED adoption, concentrated customer orders including LG Electronics, and panel-price competition from Samsung Display, BOE and TCL CSOT—all companies missing from this list.
Universal Display depends on LG Display as one of its largest customers, supplying the light-emitting materials for its OLED panels and charging for use of its OLED technology. Watch its OLED-material sales for a read on panel production: OLED accounted for 61% of LG Display’s revenue in 2025.
Himax and LG Display share exposure to display production and demand for consumer electronics and vehicles: Himax sells chips that drive and coordinate flat-panel displays, while LG Display sells the panels used in those products. Himax’s display-driver sales, its principal product line, offer a related demand signal rather than evidence of orders from LG Display.
Universal Display Corp earningsOLED
Universal Display supplies OLED-emitting materials to LG Display and other customers and licenses OLED technology, so its report offers a demand signal for the OLED panels that make up most of LG Display's revenue.
Look at whether Universal Display's OLED-material sales are growing, in the context of OLED panels accounting for most of LG Display's revenue. Stronger material sales would indicate support for OLED production across Universal Display's customer base, consistent with LG Display's product mix. Weaker sales would mean a softer demand signal, but would not establish LG Display's own orders or output.
LG Display Co. Ltd. earningsThis company
LG Display sells display panels, and this report will show whether its OLED mix and cost control can offset pressure on volume and prices to keep improving gross profit.
Read gross profit alongside OLED-related sales. Improving gross profit with OLED sales holding up would show that higher-value products and cost optimization are still offsetting pressure on volume or prices. Falling gross profit or weakening OLED sales would show that utilization, pricing or input costs are eroding that progress.
