Li Auto designs and builds vehicles for families, with manufacturing bases in Changzhou and Beijing. Buyers purchase through its own stores and digital channels rather than independent dealerships. Vehicle purchases provide most of its revenue; after-sales services and related products contribute a smaller share. Almost all revenue comes from China.
Its Li L series consists of extended-range electric SUVs: electric motors drive the wheels, while a battery and a fuel-based range-extension system supply energy, so owners can either charge or refuel. Li Auto also sells battery-only electric SUVs in its Li i series and the Li MEGA family MPV.
The business depends on Chinese households buying premium vehicles and on demand for a relatively small model lineup. Deliveries also depend on outside component suppliers, especially CATL, which supplies most of its battery packs. Battery-cell shortages have delayed Li i6 deliveries.
Vehicles need mandatory Chinese safety certification before delivery or sale, and losing that certification would stop sales of affected models. Local license-plate rules also affect demand: its extended-range vehicles do not receive the exemptions available to battery-only vehicles in Beijing and Shanghai.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Li Auto’s results hinge on demand and price competition for premium family vehicles in China, including competition from Huawei’s HIMA and Xiaomi, which are missing from this list.
NIO competes with Li Auto for Chinese car buyers through its premium NIO vehicles and family-oriented ONVO vehicles. ONVO’s family-car offering is the part to watch most closely against Li Auto’s premium family electric vehicles.
XPeng and Li Auto compete for Chinese buyers of mid- to high-end smart electric vehicles. XPeng’s assisted-driving upgrades are worth watching alongside Li Auto’s own systems, as a growing share of Li Auto orders includes Li AD Max.
Tesla competes with Li Auto for Chinese buyers spending more than RMB200,000 on new-energy vehicles. Watch Tesla’s pricing and Shanghai production: its wholly owned local factory can intensify competition and reduce Li Auto’s pricing advantage.
NVIDIA supplies chips that Li Auto’s current high-end vehicles substantially rely on, so chip availability matters for Li Auto’s production and driving-system development. Watch supply news for NVIDIA’s automotive chips alongside Li Auto’s planned rollout of its own M100 chip in new models starting in 2026.

Tesla’s report will show how its pricing and Shanghai production shape Li Auto’s competition for Chinese buyers of premium new-energy vehicles.
Look at Tesla’s China pricing alongside Shanghai production. Stable prices and ample output would let Tesla compete strongly for the same premium new-energy vehicle buyers, making Li Auto’s pricing advantage harder to maintain. Higher prices or constrained output would mean less pressure on Li Auto’s pricing.

NVIDIA’s report will show demand and supply signals in its automotive-chip business, a reference point for the NVIDIA chips used in Li Auto’s high-end vehicles.
Read NVIDIA’s automotive-business demand and supply signals alongside Li Auto’s planned rollout of its own M100 chip in new models starting in 2026. Strong demand and supply would support access to chips for Li Auto’s current high-end vehicles. Tighter supply could constrain production and driving-system development, making the M100 transition more consequential.
Li Auto Inc. earningsThis company
Li Auto earns most of its revenue from vehicle sales, and this report will show whether the gross profit from deliveries can cover its research, sales and administrative costs.
Read vehicle sales, gross margin (the share of sales left after vehicle costs) and operating expenses together. Rising sales and margin, with expenses taking a smaller share of revenue, would show deliveries are rebuilding profitability. If sales rise but margins stay weak, or expenses still exceed gross profit, vehicle sales are not yet covering the cost of running the business.
