Knowles supplies components that manufacturers build into medical, defense, industrial and energy equipment. Its larger business, Precision Devices, earns most of its revenue from custom high-performance capacitors and radio-frequency solutions. Medtech & Specialty Audio supplies balanced armature speakers and microphones for hearing aids and specialty-audio applications, providing another substantial source of revenue. Customers buy directly from Knowles or through sales representatives and distributors worldwide.
The audio business relies heavily on a small group of customers, including hearing-aid maker WS Audiology A/S. Distributor TTI, Inc. is an important buyer for Precision Devices. Sales depend on customers choosing Knowles components for their product designs and then ordering them as those products enter production. Knowles must also turn complex designs into volume production and secure critical inputs from specialized suppliers, some of which are its only source.
A significant part of Precision Devices revenue depends on U.S. government contracts, making compliance with procurement rules necessary to retain contracting eligibility. Export controls and sanctions can also require licenses or prohibit sales to particular customers.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Knowles’ hearing-health business hinges on purchases by WS Audiology, its largest disclosed customer, and competition with Sonion, its primary specialty-audio rival.
Vishay Intertechnology competes with Knowles for electronic-equipment manufacturers’ capacitor purchases. Vishay’s capacitor business is the part to watch against Knowles’ custom-designed, high-performance capacitors, rather than its broader semiconductor sales.
CTS Corporation and Knowles both depend on equipment manufacturers buying engineered components for medical, industrial and aerospace-and-defense equipment: CTS sells sensors, connection components and devices that produce movement, while Knowles sells capacitors, RF solutions and audio components. CTS’s sales to those markets offer a demand check for Knowles, unlike its transportation sales.
Littelfuse and Knowles share exposure to industrial electronics and electrification spending: equipment makers buy protection, power-control and sensing components from Littelfuse, and capacitors and RF solutions from Knowles. Littelfuse’s business serving industrial controls, grid infrastructure and energy storage is the relevant demand signal.
Bel Fuse Inc and Knowles share demand from industrial and defense electronics makers, but sell different parts: Bel supplies power, connectivity and magnetic components, while Knowles supplies capacitors and RF components.
Rogers Corporation and Knowles share demand from makers of high-performance electronics and electrification equipment: Rogers sells circuit and power-electronics materials, while Knowles sells RF solutions and capacitors for those applications.
Benchmark Electronics is paid to design and manufacture medical, industrial and defense equipment for equipment makers, whose production also drives purchases of Knowles’ specialty components. Watch Benchmark’s sales in those markets for a read on the demand that helped lift Knowles’ Precision Devices revenue in 2025.
KNOWLES CORPORATION earningsThis company
Knowles' report will show whether its capacitor and RF business is turning demand into profit while its hearing-health and specialty-audio business holds up.
Read Precision Devices (PD) revenue beside its adjusted segment earnings—the segment's profit before interest and income taxes—and do the same for Medtech & Specialty Audio (MSA). If PD revenue and profit rise together while MSA holds steady, Knowles is adding profitable component sales without its audio business slipping. If PD revenue rises but profit does not follow, or MSA weakens, the quality of growth is less convincing. MSA revenue is concentrated among a few large customers, so weakness there is harder for Knowles to offset.
Benchmark Electronics earningsBHE
Benchmark Electronics' report will show whether production demand in medical, industrial and defense equipment is supporting the equipment makers that buy Knowles' Precision Devices components.
Watch Benchmark's sales in medical, industrial and defense markets. If they strengthen, production demand at those equipment makers is holding up, a supportive backdrop for Knowles' Precision Devices components; if they weaken, demand for components may also come under pressure. Customer inventories and purchasing schedules can separate Benchmark's sales from Knowles' shipments, so this is a read on the direction of related equipment demand, not proof of Knowles' own results.
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. earningsVSH
Vishay Intertechnology's report will help show whether capacitor demand is holding up or competition is putting pressure on the market Knowles targets with its high-performance capacitors.
Look at Vishay's capacitor-related sales and any pricing or margin signals the report provides. Stronger sales with pricing and margins holding up would suggest equipment makers' capacitor demand is healthy, but would not mean Vishay took orders from Knowles. If sales and margins are both under pressure, shared-market demand may be weakening or competition may be intensifying. Vishay's products are not identical to Knowles' custom high-performance capacitors, so its report speaks to the market backdrop, not Knowles' market share by itself.
