Golf-equipment companies buy FST Corp.’s shafts to assemble into clubs, while distributors and golfers buy its KBS shafts as standalone upgrades. Customers include TaylorMade, Callaway, PXG and Mizuno. KBS premium shafts and standard steel shafts carrying customers’ brands together generate nearly all revenue. For customer-branded products, FST either manufactures from a supplied design or develops a design to the customer’s specifications before taking orders. Its KBS Golf Experience stores also help golfers select shafts and build or refit clubs, though fitting and customization services contribute little revenue.
FST makes its steel shafts in-house in Taiwan but buys all graphite shafts from a single outside manufacturer. Most shaft sales go to a relatively small group of major golf-club brands and sporting-goods distributors, whose purchases are order-based rather than committed under long-term sales contracts. The business depends on golf participation, acceptance of KBS products and timely launches of new shafts, which contribute a substantial share of annual revenue. Product development must also comply with golf-equipment rules.
FST is a Cayman Islands holding company and may rely on distributions from Femco for liquidity. Taiwan’s rules limit dividends to accumulated after-tax profits after covering prior losses and setting aside required reserves; foreign-exchange controls can also restrict cash transfers to the holding company.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
FST Corp.’s results hinge on golf-shaft demand and orders from brands including TaylorMade, PXG and Mizuno; major premium-shaft rivals True Temper and Nippon Shaft are not on this list.
Callaway Golf Company’s club sales and inventory needs feed into orders for FST’s KBS-branded shafts and shafts made to customer designs, which Callaway buys to assemble into golf equipment for amateur and professional golfers. Watch its club sales and inventory levels for clues to shaft demand at FST.
Newton Golf Company, Inc. competes with FST’s KBS shafts for golfers spending on performance upgrades, with both offering premium carbon-fiber shafts for drivers, fairway woods and hybrids. Watch Newton’s Motion-line growth and planned 2026 fairway and hybrid launches for competition facing KBS; Fast Motion became Newton’s best-selling shaft after its 2025 launch.
Acushnet Holdings Corp. and FST both depend on golfers’ equipment spending: Acushnet sells Titleist performance clubs to dedicated golfers, while FST sells shafts to club brands and golfers upgrading existing equipment. Titleist club sales offer a read on that shared demand, rather than on direct orders to FST.
Callaway Golf Company earningsCALY
Callaway Golf Company will report club sales and inventory; because it buys shafts from FST Corp. to assemble golf equipment, those figures offer clues to demand from one of FST’s customers.
Read Callaway Golf Company’s club sales together with its inventory. Steady sales without inventory building would suggest its clubs are moving and replenishment demand is better supported, offering support for demand for FST’s shafts. Weaker sales alongside rising inventory could reduce future restocking and put pressure on this customer channel for FST.
Newton Golf Company, Inc. earningsNWTG
Newton Golf Company, Inc. will report on its Motion line, whose premium carbon-fiber shafts compete with some FST Corp. products for golfers upgrading their clubs.
Watch sales of Newton Golf Company, Inc.’s Motion line. Strong growth would show that Newton is attracting performance-upgrade demand and intensify competition for KBS premium shafts. Weak sales would offer less evidence that Newton is winning that demand, but would not establish how FST’s own sales are doing.
FST Corp. earningsThis company
Golf shafts bring FST Corp. more than 90% of its revenue, and this report will show whether sales growth is translating into better gross profit and operating performance.
Read shaft revenue alongside gross margin and operating loss. Higher shaft revenue with a stable or rising margin and a narrower operating loss would show that added shipments are not eroding profitability and the business is improving. Higher revenue but a falling margin or persistent operating losses would point to continuing cost pressure: growth has not yet made operations more solid.
