Guidewire Software’s InsuranceSuite and InsuranceNow help insurers price and underwrite policies, manage policy records, collect premiums and handle claims. Insurers pay to use these systems on Guidewire Cloud Platform. Core subscription fees generally depend on the volume of premiums written for policies managed on the platform, and most subscription customers pay annually in advance. Cloud subscriptions supply most of the company’s revenue; it also sells term licenses and support, primarily to existing customers running software on their own systems.
Guidewire also charges for implementation, cloud migration and integration work. Its teams and outside systems-integrator partners help connect the software to each insurer’s systems and requirements. Successful deployment and ongoing support matter to renewals and further sales. The cloud platform runs on Amazon Web Services, making service delivery dependent on that infrastructure as well as Guidewire’s own operations.
A relatively small group of large property and casualty insurers supplies a significant share of revenue, so their purchasing and renewal decisions carry particular weight. Data-protection rules also constrain service delivery: European rules restrict transfers of personal data outside the European Economic Area unless appropriate protections are in place, which can affect where and how Guidewire operates its systems.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Guidewire’s results hinge on property-and-casualty insurers moving core systems to the cloud, with specialist rivals Duck Creek, Majesco, Origami Risk and Sapiens worth watching even though they are absent from this list.
DXC Technology competes with Guidewire for property-and-casualty insurers’ spending on software and the work to modernize their systems. Watch DXC’s Insurance Software & Services business for signs of competition facing Guidewire’s cloud policy, billing and claims systems.
CCC Intelligent Solutions and Guidewire both depend on insurers’ technology modernization budgets: CCC sells automotive claims software to insurers that buy Guidewire’s claims and policy systems. CCC’s insurance-solutions revenue, about 49% of its total revenue in 2025, offers a concrete view of spending on claims automation.
ExlService Holdings competes with Guidewire for insurers’ transformation spending, selling analytics and services that use technology to run insurance operations while Guidewire sells software and implementation services. Watch EXL’s Insurance segment for demand for data, AI and digital operations services, where insurers have alternatives to Guidewire’s offerings.
Guidewire depends on Amazon’s AWS to host the cloud systems it sells to insurers worldwide. AWS reliability matters directly to the infrastructure supporting Guidewire’s policy, billing and claims services.

CCC Intelligent Solutions’ report will show whether insurers are sustaining spending on claims automation, a technology area it shares with Guidewire’s insurer customers.
Watch CCC Intelligent Solutions’ insurance-solutions revenue. Strength would show insurers continuing to spend on claims technology, which may support modernization demand among Guidewire’s customers; weakness would suggest pressure on that spending, but would not establish a change in Guidewire’s own orders.
DXC Technology Company earningsDXC
DXC Technology’s report will show how its insurance software business is faring for insurers’ modernization budgets, which it competes for with Guidewire.
Watch DXC Technology’s Insurance Software & Services business. Strength would show DXC remains a capable contender for insurers’ software and modernization budgets, keeping competition for Guidewire real; weakness would show pressure on DXC, but would not mean insurers have shifted to Guidewire.

Guidewire’s report will show whether growth in cloud subscriptions is lifting recurring revenue without eroding its overall gross margin.
Read subscription revenue alongside overall gross margin. If subscriptions grow while margin holds or improves, cloud growth is adding more revenue than the related hosting and migration costs; if subscriptions grow but margin falls, those costs are absorbing the gains and the transition has yet to show scale benefits.
