Most of GeoPark’s revenue comes from Colombian crude oil, and its Llanos 34 block supplies most of its production. It explores for oil, drills and develops fields, then sells production to traders and other oil producers. Customers include Vitol, Trafigura and BP under purchase and prepayment agreements. Three customers account for nearly all group revenue. GeoPark has also acquired and now operates oil assets in Argentina’s Vaca Muerta formation, where it plans to direct more development spending.
Buyers pay prices linked to Brent and regional crude benchmarks, adjusted for oil quality and transport costs. Earnings therefore depend on both the volume sold and the price GeoPark actually receives. Keeping production flowing requires continued drilling and investment as existing fields deplete, plus access to trucks, pipelines and other transport infrastructure to reach buyers.
GeoPark holds production rights and economic interests in blocks; the governments own the underlying hydrocarbon resources. Its ability to develop fields depends on permits and compliance with contractual work obligations. Colombia has stopped granting new oil and gas exploration contracts, limiting access to new acreage through concessions without affecting existing contracts.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
GeoPark’s results hinge chiefly on Colombian oil production and prices; watch Parex Resources, absent from this list but an important partner in Llanos 34, GeoPark’s largest producing block.
Gran Tierra Energy Inc. shares GeoPark’s exposure to Colombian crude prices and operating conditions: both earn most of their revenue producing oil and selling it into the regional market. Watch Gran Tierra’s Colombian oil revenue, which accounted for 70% of its revenue in 2025, versus 93.7% for GeoPark.
Ecopetrol S.A shares GeoPark’s exposure to Colombian oil production and prices and, through partnerships including its subsidiary Hocol, works with GeoPark in several Llanos Basin blocks. Both produce oil for sale; news on those shared blocks is more directly relevant to GeoPark than Ecopetrol’s refinery activity.
Vista Energy S.A.B. de C.V. offers a comparison for GeoPark’s Vaca Muerta development: both develop oil fields there and sell crude to Argentine and export markets. Watch Vista’s domestic and export oil sales for context on the prices facing GeoPark’s Argentine business; Vista exported 61% of its oil sales volumes in 2025.
Vista Energy S.A.B. de C.V. earningsVIST
Vista Energy's report will show how its Vaca Muerta crude is selling at home and abroad, giving context for the market facing GeoPark's Argentine oil fields.
Read Vista Energy's domestic and export oil sales together. Strong exports with steady domestic sales would suggest solid outlets for Vaca Muerta crude, a supportive market signal for GeoPark's Argentine business, which relies on trucking; weakness in both would point to a tougher selling environment. Vista's results do not establish GeoPark's own prices or transport conditions.
GEOPARK LIMITED earningsThis company
GeoPark's report will show whether oil volumes and realized prices in Colombia can steady the company's main source of revenue.
Read oil sales volumes alongside realized oil prices—the prices GeoPark actually receives after quality and transport adjustments. Rising volumes or steadier prices would suggest its Colombia-led oil business is stabilizing; further weakness in both would put revenue and cash for investment and debt service under pressure.
Gran Tierra Energy Inc. earningsGTE
Gran Tierra Energy's report will show how its Colombian oil business is faring, offering a reference point for the conditions facing GeoPark's more concentrated Colombian business.
Watch Gran Tierra Energy's Colombian oil revenue alongside any production or realized-price figures it reports. Steady revenue with steady volumes or prices would suggest supportive local operating and selling conditions, a positive reference for GeoPark's more Colombia-dependent business; falling revenue with weaker volumes or prices would flag possible shared pressure. Their fields, customers and transport arrangements differ, so this is not proof of GeoPark's results.
Ecopetrol S.A earningsEC
If Ecopetrol's report discusses Llanos Basin blocks shared with GeoPark, it can offer a direct clue about operations in those partnership areas.
First check whether Ecopetrol specifically discusses Llanos Basin blocks it shares with GeoPark, then look for signs of steady or disrupted production and operations there. Stable activity would suggest the partnership operations are progressing; reported stoppages or delays would flag possible pressure on related output and revenue. Ecopetrol's overall production or refinery results alone do not show what happened in GeoPark's partnership blocks.
