Liberty Capital Corporation operates primarily in Alaska through GCI Holdings under the GCI brand. Households pay for internet and mobile service, while businesses, government agencies, schools and healthcare providers buy connectivity and services that help manage their networks. Data services generate most revenue, with wireless service the next-largest source.
GCI connects urban and remote communities using fiber, microwave and satellite links. Undersea fiber cables connect its Alaska networks to the contiguous United States. Its own mobile network is not nationwide, so it pays other carriers to let customers use voice and data services outside its coverage.
Federal Universal Service Fund support supplies a substantial share of revenue and helps make service viable in high-cost rural areas. For eligible rural healthcare telecommunications services, providers pay the urban rate and the program funds the difference from the regulated rural rate. This income depends on program funding, compliance and continued eligibility; GCI must retain eligible-carrier status for high-cost and low-income support. Its wireless and other transmission facilities also require FCC licenses.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
AT&T competes with GCI for Alaska customers who pay for mobile service, putting GCI's wireless revenue under pressure. Watch AT&T's handset promotions and 5G expansion: GCI may not get some phones as quickly as national carriers.
Verizon's mobile plans, device promotions and expanding 5G service compete directly with GCI for paying mobile customers in Alaska. Its Alaska service offers and network expansion are worth watching for pressure on GCI's ability to retain those customers.
Cable One's broadband trends offer a comparison for GCI: both sell Internet access to households and businesses over their own networks, but serve separate areas. Watch Cable One's residential data subscribers and revenue against GCI's consumer data revenue, which fell in 2025 mainly because it had fewer subscribers.
Charter and GCI both sell Internet and mobile bundles over extensive fixed networks, so keeping subscribers and selling more services to each customer matter to both. Watch whether Charter's Spectrum bundles reduce customer departures and acquisition and service costs—the benefits Charter says bundling can deliver.
Optimum Communications and GCI both rely on households and businesses buying broadband and mobile services, making subscriber retention and network spending important to both. Watch Optimum's expansion of fiber directly to premises and whether it delivers the fewer outages and lower maintenance costs the company expects.
Comcast's broadband and wireless results help reveal industry pressures on GCI, since both sell connectivity to households and businesses. Focus on Comcast's residential and business connectivity results rather than its entertainment and theme parks, which have less bearing on GCI's business.
AT&T Inc. earningsT
AT&T's report will show how its mobile promotions and network expansion press GCI's efforts to win and keep wireless customers in Alaska.
Look at AT&T's wireless customer growth alongside its handset promotions and 5G expansion. Strong growth with aggressive promotions would show a national carrier pressing harder for mobile customers, making GCI's retention job tougher; weak growth or scaled-back promotions would suggest less pressure. AT&T's nationwide figures do not establish GCI's Alaska subscriber trend, but they show the competitor's intensity.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
The Fed’s rate decision signals whether borrowing costs across the economy are rising or falling, which can change the interest GCI pays on its variable-rate credit-facility debt and leave less or more cash for its Alaska network and other needs.

If it comes in above expectations
Higher economy-wide borrowing costs can raise interest on GCI’s variable-rate facility borrowings, squeezing cash available for network investment and other obligations.
If it comes in below expectations
Lower economy-wide borrowing costs can reduce interest on GCI’s variable-rate facility borrowings, leaving more cash for network investment and other obligations.
Liberty Capital Corporation Series A GCI Group earningsThis company
Liberty Capital's report will show whether service upgrades by Alaska institutions can offset household broadband subscriber losses.
Read business data revenue alongside consumer data subscribers. Business data revenue rising while consumer subscribers stabilize would show both institutions and households supporting GCI. If business revenue rises but consumer subscribers keep falling, upgrades by health-care and education customers are cushioning revenue, not reversing household losses.
