Del Monte Corporation supplies retailers, wholesalers and foodservice operators with produce sold mainly under the Del Monte brand. It grows crops on company-controlled farms and buys from independent growers, then prepares, packs and ships them through its refrigerated distribution network. Fresh and value-added products, including fresh-cut produce and pineapples, bring in most revenue; bananas are the other major business. Prepared foods and third-party freight services add smaller revenue streams.
North America is its largest market, and Costa Rica is its most important sourcing location. Walmart is a named customer, but no single buyer dominates sales. The company depends on both its farms and contracted growers; its Philippine banana supply has relied heavily on one grower. Earnings depend on delivering consistent volumes and quality before produce spoils, and on selling prices covering growing, purchasing and shipping costs. Del Monte Gold Extra Sweet pineapples have been particularly important to profitability. Minimum banana export prices in Costa Rica and Ecuador limit its ability to negotiate lower purchase prices.
The company uses the Del Monte trademark under perpetual, royalty-free licenses rather than owning the brand outright. Its fresh-produce license is worldwide, while prepared-food rights cover specified regions; certain North American prepared foods are sold under an agreement with Del Monte Pacific. Other unaffiliated companies also sell products under the Del Monte brand.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Fresh Del Monte’s results hinge on fresh-produce supply, weather, freight costs and pricing; Chiquita and Fyffes are also important banana rivals to watch beyond this list.
Dole competes with Fresh Del Monte worldwide to sell bananas, pineapples and other fresh produce to retailers, wholesalers and foodservice operators. Watch Dole’s pricing and promotions, especially for pineapples in the U.S., where it names Fresh Del Monte as a primary rival.
Fresh Del Monte depends on Walmart’s purchases of bananas and fresh and value-added products, which accounted for 7% of its net sales in 2025. Walmart resells goods to shoppers in stores and online; its emphasis on low prices and cost control is worth watching for those produce sales.

Del Monte's report will show whether sales of its bananas and fresh and value-added products are turning into gross profit after produce and distribution costs.
Read net sales and gross profit together, alongside sales trends in bananas and fresh and value-added products. If sales and gross profit both rise, Del Monte is turning prices or volume into more gross profit after produce and delivery costs; if sales rise but gross profit stalls or falls, higher prices are not covering costs, or price increases are weighing on volume. The result will show whether sales growth is improving the business's margins or merely holding up revenue.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
Del Monte’s variable-rate revolving credit facility means the Fed’s decision on its benchmark interest rate can change what the company pays to borrow and leave less or more cash for operations and debt service.

If it comes in above expectations
If the Fed sets rates higher than expected, interest costs on the facility may rise as its rate adjusts, leaving less cash for Del Monte’s operations and debt service.
If it comes in below expectations
If the Fed sets rates lower than expected, interest costs on the facility may fall as its rate adjusts, leaving more cash for Del Monte’s operations and debt service.
Dole plc earningsDOLE
Dole's report offers a read on U.S. pineapple competition, which can affect Del Monte's ability to hold sales and prices.
Look for Dole's comments on U.S. pineapple sales, pricing and promotions. If sales hold without heavier promotions, demand appears able to support prices, leaving Del Monte less pressure to discount; if sales need stronger promotions to hold up, Del Monte may face more pressure to match prices and give up margin. That distinction shows whether Dole's report points to firm demand or a more price-driven fight for sales.
Walmart Inc. earningsWMT
Walmart's report offers a read on grocery demand and its low-price push, both of which can shape demand and pricing for the bananas and fresh and value-added products Del Monte sells to Walmart.
Walmart does not disclose Del Monte's specific orders, so use its grocery sales and comments on low prices and promotions as clues, not a direct read-through. If grocery demand holds without heavier discounting, shoppers are still buying the kinds of produce Del Monte sells there, with less sign of added pressure on price; if demand weakens as Walmart stresses low prices, Del Monte may face both softer orders and tougher price negotiations. The report will show whether this important sales channel has demand support or faces greater pressure from its buyer.
