Co-Diagnostics supplies tests that laboratories use to detect infectious pathogens through their genetic material. Its tests use its patented Co-Primers technology. Product sales provide most revenue, alongside research grants. It sells the Logix Smart COVID-19 test to qualified U.S. laboratories and overseas customers; U.S. sales operate under FDA emergency use authorization, which can be revoked.
In India, its joint venture CoSara Diagnostics manufactures and sells laboratory PCR tests under the SaraGene brand. Co-Diagnostics also places third-party testing instruments through its Co-Dx Box reagent-rental program to support test sales. Several customers account for substantial shares of revenue, and grant income depends on a single granting agency. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded grants supporting development of tuberculosis and HPV tests.
The company is also developing the Co-Dx PCR platform, combining an instrument, test cups and a mobile app. It is not yet available for sale and remains subject to FDA review. After withdrawing an earlier submission, the company redirected development toward a combined influenza, COVID-19 and RSV test. Commercializing this platform depends on regulatory approval and sufficient customer demand.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Co-Diagnostics’ prospects hinge on funding and regulatory clearance for its PCR platform, then winning adoption against established competitors including BioMérieux, Roche Diagnostics and Cepheid.
QIAGEN competes for molecular-testing customers with Co-Diagnostics’ laboratory PCR tests and planned platform for testing several infections at once, selling testing supplies and the instruments used with them. Watch QIAGEN’s consumables revenue: it accounts for most sales and shows the scale of the testing business Co-Diagnostics faces.
Abbott Laboratories offers customers molecular and rapid infectious-disease tests that compete with Co-Diagnostics’ laboratory PCR assays and planned respiratory-testing platform for use near patients.
Becton, Dickinson and Co. competes for clinical laboratories’ testing purchases with Co-Diagnostics, selling systems and infectious-disease tests that detect molecular material while Co-Diagnostics sells PCR tests.
OraSure Technologies Inc offers customers rapid COVID-19 and hepatitis C tests as alternatives to Co-Diagnostics’ molecular infectious-disease tests, though the methods and testing settings differ. Watch OraSure’s rapid-test offering and expansion into self-testing, rather than its separate sample-collection sales to commercial and research customers.

QIAGEN’s report will show whether laboratories are buying more of the molecular-testing consumables that Co-Diagnostics competes to sell into the same market.
Watch QIAGEN’s consumables revenue, which makes up most of its sales. Growth would point to sustained laboratory testing activity in the market Co-Diagnostics serves; a decline would suggest a softer purchasing environment and more pressure as Co-Diagnostics seeks test customers.

Co-Diagnostics’ report will show whether sales of its PCR tests can carry more of the business and reduce its reliance on less predictable grant revenue.
Read product revenue alongside grant revenue, then check how much cash operating activities used. Rising product revenue with lower operating cash use would show test sales carrying more of the business; weaker product revenue, falling grants and continued cash use would show that sales are not yet sustaining operations and funding pressure remains.
