Most of Church & Dwight’s sales come from household and personal care products sold in the United States. Laundry detergent is its largest consumer business, with brands including ARM & HAMMER, OXICLEAN and XTRA. Personal care products include THERABREATH oral care, WATERPIK water flossers and HERO acne treatments. Supermarkets, mass retailers, drugstores and online channels buy its products to sell to consumers. A much smaller business sells animal nutrition products, sodium bicarbonate and other specialty products to business customers and livestock producers.
Walmart and its affiliates account for a substantial share of sales, and the company relies on a small group of large retail customers. It mainly sells through individual orders rather than long-term contracts, so those customers can reduce or stop buying at short notice. Sales depend on consumers choosing its brands and retailers continuing to stock them; pricing concessions to retailers can reduce profitability, particularly in the highly price-competitive laundry business.
Its regulated products, including certain medicines and medical devices, must meet requirements governing manufacturing, labeling and product claims. Regulators can require corrective action or suspend sales until compliance problems are resolved.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Church & Dwight’s results depend heavily on laundry pricing and brand share, so Henkel and Reckitt are important rivals to watch beyond this list.
P&G competes with Church & Dwight for consumers’ household and personal-care spending, especially on laundry detergents—Church & Dwight’s largest consumer business by net sales. P&G’s laundry pricing and promotions are worth watching for pressure on ARM & HAMMER, OXICLEAN and XTRA.
Clorox competes with Church & Dwight for consumers buying household cleaners and cat litter, with Fresh Step facing ARM & HAMMER litter. Its cat-litter sales offer a focused read on that rivalry, rather than its wider business.
Colgate-Palmolive competes with Church & Dwight for consumers buying toothpaste and mouthwash, as well as household cleaners and personal-care products. Its mouthwash performance is particularly relevant to Church & Dwight’s THERABREATH oral-care business.
Unilever competes with Church & Dwight for consumers’ spending on fabric cleaning and enhancers, household cleaners, hair care and oral care. Its Home Care sales are worth watching for competition facing Church & Dwight’s laundry and cleaning products.
Kenvue competes for consumers buying Church & Dwight’s THERABREATH mouthwash and HERO acne treatments through Listerine and its skin-care portfolio. Watch those businesses: THERABREATH and HERO both contributed to Church & Dwight’s Consumer Domestic sales growth in 2025.
Haleon competes with Church & Dwight for consumers buying oral-health products and nonprescription respiratory-health remedies. Its Oral Health and Respiratory Health results are the relevant areas to watch alongside Church & Dwight’s oral-care products and ZICAM cold remedies.
Procter & Gamble Company earningsPG
P&G’s report will show how laundry pricing and promotions shape its competition with Church & Dwight for detergent shoppers and shelf space.
Look at P&G’s laundry sales and whether they come with heavier promotions. Steady sales without more promotion would point to a better-supported category and pricing environment, though P&G would still be competing for detergent shoppers. Weak sales or greater reliance on promotions would signal tougher competition and more pressure on Church & Dwight’s ARM & HAMMER, OXICLEAN and XTRA to promote.
Church & Dwight Co., Inc. earningsThis company
Church & Dwight’s report will show whether brands such as ARM & HAMMER can grow sales through volume and pricing without costs squeezing margins.
Read household and personal-care sales alongside changes in volume, price and product mix, and gross margin. Growth led by volume with a steady margin means the brands are selling more without giving up much profit per sale. If growth relies mainly on pricing while volume weakens, or gross margin falls, demand, promotions or costs are making growth harder to sustain.
Colgate-Palmolive Company earningsCL
Colgate-Palmolive’s report will show how its mouthwash business is doing and help readers gauge the competition facing Church & Dwight’s THERABREATH.
Look for what Colgate-Palmolive says about mouthwash sales and demand. Strong performance would suggest that shoppers are buying in the category, but also that its brands are competing for the same customers as THERABREATH. Weak performance could ease that competitive pressure, but would not by itself show that THERABREATH is growing.
Clorox Company earningsCLX
Clorox’s cat-litter results will show how Fresh Step is faring against Church & Dwight’s ARM & HAMMER for shoppers and spending.
Look at Clorox’s reported cat-litter performance, separately from its broader business. Strong Fresh Step sales would show that the brand is drawing shoppers in this category and could mean more competition for ARM & HAMMER. Weak sales could ease that pressure, but might also reflect weaker demand for cat litter overall.
