Company

Company overview

Bumble Inc.’s Bumble and Badoo apps help people find potential dates, while BFF helps people find friends, join groups and build communities. Bumble brings in most of the company’s revenue; Badoo and other apps contribute a smaller share. The relaunched BFF app had not generated revenue as of the end of 2025, although the legacy Bumble For Friends app still did.

Members can use the services for free. Some pay for subscriptions or individual premium features, which account for the bulk of revenue; advertising and partnerships contribute little. The business depends on attracting and retaining active members, converting some into paying users and how much those users spend.

Bumble’s mobile apps depend almost entirely on Apple’s App Store and Google Play for access. Most app purchases pass through their payment systems, and Bumble pays the platforms a meaningful share of those sales. These partners control important distribution and payment terms. The services target adults, and Bumble uses measures intended to keep minors out. Privacy rules constrain how it handles member data, while online-safety laws can require age checks and content removal.

Bumble’s results hinge on dating-app engagement, turning free users into payers and spending per payer, while Apple and Google app-store fees also affect margins.

  • Match Group’s Tinder, Hinge and other dating apps compete with Bumble and Badoo for users who pay for subscriptions and premium features. Watch its subscription revenue for a read on the spending Bumble is competing to win.

  • Grindr Inc. and Bumble both depend on turning free social and dating app users into paying subscribers, though Grindr serves the more specialized GBTQ and LGBTQ community. Its revenue from subscriptions and paid add-ons offers another view of users’ willingness to pay for premium features.
