Company

Company overview

Air T owns separately managed aviation businesses. Overnight cargo flying and commercial aircraft, engines and parts together account for most revenue. Its Mountain Air Cargo and CSA Air subsidiaries fly small packages for FedEx, which supplies the aircraft and chooses the routes; the subsidiaries provide crews and operate the flights. FedEx pays service compensation and reimburses specified operating costs without a markup. It supplies nearly all cargo-segment revenue and a substantial share of Air T’s total revenue. Compensation depends on how many aircraft FedEx assigns, and FedEx can reduce aircraft or terminate the agreements on short notice. Air T was negotiating renewal of these contracts at its latest report.

In the aircraft-asset business, Contrail buys aircraft and engines to lease, resell or dismantle for parts. AirCo and Worthington supply parts and repair services, while Jet Yard stores and dismantles aircraft. Returns depend on finding lessees and buyers and maintaining the assets’ condition and records; some leases and cross-border transactions require regulatory approvals. Global Ground Support also sells and services aircraft ground equipment, chiefly deicers, for customers including airlines and the U.S. Air Force.

Air T also owns Rex, an Australian regional airline acquired in late 2025. Rex earns passenger fares, freight and charter revenue, and government subsidies on certain regulated routes. Government financing for its fleet reactivation comes with commitments to restore aircraft and maintain specified regional services, limiting its freedom to withdraw from some routes. Bringing aircraft back into service depends on engine-overhaul capacity, parts and skilled staff.

Air T’s results hinge on integrating Rex and returning its Australian regional aircraft fleet to service, alongside renewing its material FedEx contracts.

  • Air T depends on FedEx, which pays its carriers to fly small-package feeder routes and supplies the aircraft; these contracts generated about 35% of Air T’s consolidated revenue in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. Watch renewal terms: Air T said commercially acceptable terms were material to continuing operations.

  • American Airlines Group, which sells passenger and cargo air transportation, brings customer revenue to Air T by buying services from its aircraft, engines and parts and ground-support equipment businesses. That business accounted for 4% of Air T’s consolidated revenue in fiscal 2026, down from 13% in fiscal 2025—a smaller contribution from this airline customer.
