Powerfleet helps businesses and government organizations track vehicles, trailers, cargo and equipment across warehouses, yards and roads. Its Unity platform combines data from connected devices and customers’ business systems so managers can monitor assets, identify safety issues and manage how equipment is used. Customers include Walmart and XPO Logistics.
Customers pay for connected hardware and hosted software services. Services bring in most of the revenue, primarily through recurring subscriptions, with implementation and other services contributing as well. Multi-year service contracts include monitoring, technical support and software updates, and typically provide for renewal after the initial term. Powerfleet sells directly and through equipment manufacturers, telecommunications companies and distributors; it relies substantially on partners to sell, install and support its solutions.
The business depends on customers continuing and renewing services, functioning partner networks and access to usable data from customers, devices and third parties. No single customer accounts for a dominant share of revenue, and international sales are important. Products require local regulatory approvals, while privacy and data-localization rules can limit where and how Powerfleet uses data or offers AI features.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Powerfleet’s results hinge on winning and expanding connected-asset subscriptions against Samsara and privately held Geotab, neither shown in this list.
Karooooo competes with Powerfleet for commercial customers paying for subscriptions that use connected-device data to track fleets, analyze operations and manage vehicles. Watch Karooooo’s connected vehicle and equipment subscriber count for a read on adoption of these services.
Trimble competes for commercial operators buying transportation and logistics software, overlapping with Powerfleet’s tools for understanding fleet operations and managing assets. Its Transportation and Logistics segment is the part of its results to watch for this competition, rather than its construction or field-systems businesses.

Trimble’s report will show demand for transportation and logistics software, where some commercial customers overlap with Powerfleet’s.
Focus on Trimble’s Transportation and Logistics business, not its construction or field-systems operations. Stronger demand there would show overlapping customers are still buying software, supporting the market Powerfleet serves; weaker demand would suggest those customers may be tightening spending, but would not establish that Powerfleet’s own sales are falling.

Powerfleet’s report will show whether Unity subscriptions and services keep growing and their higher margins continue to support profitability.
Read service-revenue growth alongside gross margin. Continued service growth with a steady or higher margin would show subscriptions and services are scaling while supporting profitability; slower service growth or a falling margin would show the shift toward services is not yet producing stronger economics.
