Company

Company overview

Senmiao Technology Ltd, now named Valor Energy Inc, serves ride-hailing drivers who need a car to work. Its continuing business operates entirely in Changsha through Hunan Ruixi. It rents out vehicles it owns or obtains from others, generally under contracts lasting no more than a year. Drivers pay rent, which supplies most of the company’s revenue; partner ride-hailing platforms also pay commissions for related services.

Drivers use these cars to fulfil trip requests on partner platforms, including Didi. The company’s ability to attract and retain drivers depends substantially on cooperation with Gaode Maps and other local platforms that supply trip orders. Its rental business also depends on keeping vehicles rented and on the rents drivers will pay.

Local rules limit who and what can operate: drivers and vehicles need ride-hailing credentials, and Changsha has suspended applications for new ride-hailing licenses. Starting in 2027, all newly added ride-hailing cars in the city must be new energy vehicles, restricting which vehicles the company can add to its rental fleet.

Senmiao’s results hinge on Changsha ride-hailing drivers’ demand for leased cars and their earnings on platforms including Didi Chuxing, rather than on the supplied global rental and mobility companies.
