Company

Company overview

Uxin Limited owns the cars it sells rather than simply matching buyers with sellers. It acquires vehicles from individual owners, dealers and auctions, then inspects and reconditions those suitable for retail. Consumers buy online nationwide or at regional superstores, and their vehicle purchases provide the vast majority of revenue. Uxin also wholesales cars that fail its retail standards or do not fit its desired inventory mix.

The business depends on buying desirable cars at suitable prices and selling them before inventory builds up and forces price cuts. Uxin uses loans secured by vehicle inventory to help fund purchases; borrowings tied to a car generally become repayable shortly after its sale. It relies on outside partners for financing, delivery, title transfers and after-sales services, making their performance important to the customer experience.

Local license-plate limits and vehicle-emissions requirements restrict where some used cars can be registered, which can limit the cars Uxin can sell in those markets.
