ServiceTitan helps contractors manage work on homes and commercial buildings, from taking a customer’s call and preparing an estimate to dispatching technicians, invoicing and collecting payment. Its customers range from family-owned firms to large businesses and franchise groups, principally in the United States and Canada.
Almost all revenue comes from its software platform. Customers pay for Core subscriptions and can add Pro products and FinTech services. Subscription prices generally reflect the features included and the customer’s number of field technicians. For payments and consumer financing, ServiceTitan connects contractors to third-party providers rather than supplying the financing itself, and earns fees based on the transactions those providers handle.
Revenue depends on customers retaining the software, adding technicians, adopting more products and routing more business through the platform. That ties ServiceTitan to demand for its customers’ services and their ability to staff and complete jobs. The platform runs primarily on Microsoft Azure, while its payment services depend on outside processors. Those services must comply with financial regulations and payment-card rules; noncompliance can cost ServiceTitan the ability to offer payment solutions.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
ServiceTitan’s results hinge on trades businesses’ technician counts and invoiced work volumes, making specialists HouseCall Pro, Jobber and BuildOps closer competitive comparisons than most broad software companies.
Salesforce competes with ServiceTitan for trades businesses’ spending on software that manages customer relationships and field-service work. Salesforce sells subscriptions across almost every industry, so its news about winning trades customers is more relevant to ServiceTitan than its company-wide growth.
Procore and ServiceTitan both earn subscription revenue tied to contractors’ work volumes and software adoption: Procore manages construction projects, while ServiceTitan runs trades businesses’ workflows. Watch the annual dollar volume of construction work customers contract to run on Procore and the products they buy, rather than treating that volume as equivalent to invoices issued through ServiceTitan.
SAP’s business-management software competes with ServiceTitan’s platform for running trades businesses, giving those customers an alternative to its industry-focused tools. SAP earns money from business customers through cloud subscriptions, software licenses and services; its cloud application and integration developments are the relevant competitive news to watch.
ServiceTitan depends on Microsoft’s Azure cloud infrastructure to host most of its platform and on Microsoft’s machine-learning technology for its AI solutions. Azure outages or price increases, and changes in access to that AI technology, can affect the service ServiceTitan delivers to trades businesses and its costs.
Microsoft Corp earningsMSFT
ServiceTitan relies on Microsoft Azure to host its platform, so Microsoft's report offers a read on the cloud infrastructure behind the service it delivers to trades businesses.
Read Azure's growth alongside any disclosures about capacity constraints or higher cloud costs. Continued capacity and reliable service would support ServiceTitan's ability to run and scale its platform; strain or rising costs would put the infrastructure it depends on at risk. Microsoft's report does not reveal ServiceTitan's contract prices or access terms for AI technology, so it speaks to the supplier environment, not ServiceTitan's specific costs.
Procore Technologies, Inc. earningsPCOR
Procore manages construction projects, and its report will show whether construction customers are taking on more work and buying more software—a demand signal for the new-construction trades businesses ServiceTitan serves.
Read the annual dollar volume of construction work Procore customers contract to manage alongside the products they buy. Growth in both would point to more construction activity and stronger demand for software to manage it, which could support trades businesses serving new-construction sites; weakness in both would flag pressure for that slice of ServiceTitan's customers. Procore's contracted work is not the same as invoices processed through ServiceTitan, and it does not represent demand across all of ServiceTitan's customers.
Salesforce, Inc. earningsCRM
Salesforce also sells customer-management and field-service software to trades businesses, so its report can show whether it is winning customers and software spending that ServiceTitan competes for.
Look for disclosures about trades businesses adopting Salesforce's customer-management or field-service products, not just Salesforce's company-wide growth. More adoption among those customers would mean tougher competition for ServiceTitan's target buyers and their software budgets; weak or absent trades-specific evidence would not show that Salesforce's broad growth is translating into pressure on ServiceTitan.
ServiceTitan, Inc. earningsThis company
ServiceTitan earns subscription and transaction-based revenue from trades businesses, and this report will show whether more customer activity is turning into more platform revenue.
Compare gross transaction volume (GTV)—the dollars customers invoice through the platform—with usage-based revenue, and read both alongside subscription revenue. If GTV and usage revenue rise together, customers are processing more transactions and ServiceTitan is collecting more from that activity; if GTV grows but usage revenue lags, more activity is not translating into fees at the same pace. Growing subscription revenue would also show customers adding users or products. Together, these figures show whether existing customers’ expansion is translating into platform revenue.
