Team, Inc. helps industrial customers assess equipment condition and carry out maintenance and repairs. Its Inspection and Heat-Treating business checks equipment for defects without damaging it, assesses whether it remains fit for use and performs heat treatment. Mechanical Services repairs leaks while equipment is operating and handles maintenance during shutdowns. The two businesses contribute roughly equal shares of revenue.
Customers usually pay for labor, equipment and materials used on each job; some work has a fixed price. Most orders cover individual jobs, though Team also provides ongoing maintenance. Customers can generally terminate agreements on short notice, so revenue depends on continued orders rather than long-term commitments.
Team relies heavily on refining and petrochemical customers, making their maintenance and project spending important to demand. Delivering the work depends on retaining skilled technicians. Services involving hazardous waste or emissions also require permits and compliance with environmental, health and safety rules, which can restrict operations.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Team, Inc.’s results hinge on industrial customers’ spending on inspecting, maintaining and repairing equipment and on planned plant shutdowns for maintenance—not demand for household services.
EIA Crude Oil Stocks Change (Oct/16)
TEAM’s inventory-driven oil and fuel prices matter because energy, midstream, refining and petrochemical customers’ spending on inspection and maintenance drives demand for its services.
Read stocks as a clue to supply relative to demand: larger crude and fuel stocks can point to looser supply and lower prices, potentially restraining customers’ spending on TEAM’s inspection and maintenance; smaller stocks can point to tighter supply and higher prices, potentially supporting that spending.
Team, Inc. earningsThis company
Team, Inc. earns revenue by inspecting, repairing and maintaining industrial equipment, and this report will show whether that work is turning into cash or tying more cash up in collections and working capital.
Read cash from operations alongside revenue, and check what receivables and other working-capital changes contributed. Revenue growth with stronger operating cash flow means customer payments are keeping pace with delivered services and the business is funding more of its work itself. Growth with weak or negative cash flow means collection timing or working-capital needs are still absorbing cash, leaving less operating cash to support its debt burden.
