Company

Company overview

SMX adds invisible molecular markers to materials, then uses readers and software to identify them as they move through production and supply chains. This helps brands and manufacturers authenticate products, trace raw materials to their origin and measure recycled or reused content. It works with manufacturers directly or through their raw-material suppliers, rather than selling to consumers.

The company has not yet generated revenue from technology sales and is moving from customer pilots toward commercial deployment. Its planned model charges customers to implement markers, generally according to the quantity marked, and for readers and ongoing services. Prospective customers have reimbursed costs for paid pilots and proof-of-concept projects, but operations have mainly relied on financing. Commercial income depends on turning multinational customers’ interest into purchase orders after lengthy sales cycles; until significant recurring revenue develops, SMX depends on further capital raising and shareholder support.

The core marking technology rests on a worldwide, exclusive, royalty-bearing licence from Isorad. That licence can be terminated under specified conditions, including a semi-annual report showing no royalties, making continued access to the technology an important business dependency.
