Sea Limited runs Shopee, Monee and Garena. Shopee connects shoppers with sellers across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Brazil. Sellers pay for advertising, transaction services and services such as logistics; these commerce services generate most of Sea’s revenue. Shopee also buys goods for resale through its own store. Orders depend on delivery through Shopee’s logistics operations and outside providers.
Monee lends to consumers and small businesses, including Shopee buyers and sellers, and provides payments and banking services. It earns mainly interest and fees from credit and banking, alongside fees from payments and other financial services. Shopee helps Monee acquire customers, but Monee also serves borrowers and merchants outside the marketplace. Lending depends on borrowers repaying and on access to funding; local rules restrict loan sizes in Thailand and interest and fees on peer-to-peer loans in Indonesia.
Garena develops and publishes online games, including games licensed from other developers. Players can play for free and pay for virtual items and season passes. Its own game Free Fire supplies the vast majority of gaming revenue and profit, making player engagement and spending on that title especially important. Sea relies primarily on Apple’s App Store and Google Play to distribute its apps and games. Government action has kept Free Fire unavailable on both stores in India.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Sea’s results hinge on Southeast Asian and Brazilian online spending, consumer-loan growth and repayment, and Garena’s paying-player engagement—areas MercadoLibre and Grab capture only partly.
MercadoLibre challenges Sea’s Shopee for Brazilian online shoppers and sellers, and Monee for Latin American financial-services users; both commerce platforms connect buyers with sellers and also sell goods directly. Watch MercadoLibre’s marketplace fee revenue and Mercado Pago’s Brazilian user activity for signs of competitive pressure on Sea’s commerce and financial services.
Grab Holdings competes with Sea’s Monee in Southeast Asian payments, lending and digital banking, while demand for its deliveries reflects the same regional consumer spending that matters to Shopee’s online shopping business. Grab connects consumers with drivers and merchants and charges those partners fees and commissions; watch delivery-related fees after incentives for a read on spending, rather than treating them as a direct measure of Shopee sales.
Mercado Libre, Inc earningsMELI
MercadoLibre’s report will show what Brazilian sellers contribute in marketplace fees and how users engage with Mercado Pago, offering a read on the competition Sea’s Shopee and Monee face there.
Look at MercadoLibre’s marketplace fee revenue in Brazil alongside Brazilian activity on Mercado Pago. If both hold up, the company is seeing continued business from sellers and financial-services users, pointing to active competition for Shopee and Monee. If both weaken, that competitive signal is softer, but it does not prove Sea is winning users. Fee revenue can also change with rates and business mix, so check whether activity supports it.
Sea Limited earningsThis company
Shopee is Sea’s largest business, and this report will show whether its e-commerce service revenue continues to cover the cost of running the marketplace.
Read Shopee’s e-commerce service revenue alongside its segment operating result. If revenue grows and the result stays positive, money from seller ads, transaction fees and other services is covering the cost of serving buyers and sellers. If revenue grows but the result turns to a loss, those costs are absorbing the added revenue. That shows whether Shopee’s monetization translated into operating income this quarter.
Grab Holdings Limited earningsGRAB
Grab’s report will show how Southeast Asian users engage with its financial services and deliveries: the first bears on Monee’s competition, while the second offers an indirect demand signal for Shopee.
Read Grab’s financial-services activity separately from its delivery-related fees after incentives. Stronger financial-services activity would make its competition with Monee for Southeast Asian payments, lending and digital-banking users more evident. Stronger delivery-related fees after incentives, supported by delivery activity, would suggest users are still ordering through Grab—a useful spending signal, but not a direct measure of Shopee sales. If these signals weaken, the evidence of competition and demand is softer; Grab’s results alone do not establish how Sea itself is doing.
