Company

Company overview

Scienture Holdings operates through Scienture LLC and is in the early stages of selling its own pharmaceutical products. Sales center on ARBLI, an FDA-approved, ready-to-use liquid formulation of losartan for hypertension. Wholesale distributors pay Scienture for the medicine and resell it to retail pharmacies, hospitals and other healthcare providers. The company no longer relies on its former diversified operations; pharmaceutical product sales now supply its revenue.

Scienture is also commercializing REZENOPY, a naloxone nasal spray for opioid overdose, under an exclusive license from Kindeva covering the United States and its territories. Scienture sets prices and pays for marketing and distribution, while Kindeva controls manufacturing. Scienture pays Kindeva for product supply and owes sales-based payments, milestones and development-cost reimbursements. The license cannot be transferred or sublicensed. Scienture outsources all manufacturing, so product availability depends on outside suppliers.

Commercial uptake depends substantially on insurance coverage and reimbursement. Scienture also has candidates in development for migraine, thrombosis and pain, but cannot sell them before obtaining the relevant regulatory approvals. Promotion of approved medicines must stay within their approved labeling.

Scienture's results hinge on ARBLI's commercial uptake and the economics of launching REZENOPY, including its licensing, manufacturing and minimum-order commitments to Kindeva.
