Playboy gets most of its revenue from Honey Birdette, its luxury lingerie business. Customers buy lingerie and other intimate products through Honey Birdette’s websites and stores in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. Playboy manages inventory and delivery rather than simply licensing this brand to other retailers.
Its other major business lets partners use the Playboy name and Rabbit Head logo to sell products and run entertainment businesses. Those partners generally pay royalties tied to sales, with minimum payments required under their contracts. Byborg, its largest licensee and a significant revenue source, now operates Playboy Club, Playboy Plus and Playboy TV. Playboy still owns these businesses but has shifted their operation from running them itself to licensing them to Byborg, which pays guaranteed minimum royalties and may owe additional royalties.
Licensing income depends on partners selling successfully and making their payments. Adult-content rules can limit distribution and require age verification, while the adult nature of the business can also restrict access to banking, payment processing and advertising platforms.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Playboy’s results hinge on Honey Birdette lingerie sales and brand royalties, especially payments from Byborg, its largest licensee and the operator of its licensed digital businesses.
Victoria’s Secret competes with Playboy’s Honey Birdette for overlapping lingerie customers in stores and online, tying both to consumer spending on intimates. Its lingerie sales offer a read on demand in the category that accounts for Playboy’s entire direct-to-consumer business through Honey Birdette.

Playboy’s report will show whether licensing income can grow while Honey Birdette keeps selling lingerie and other consumer products.
Read Licensing revenue and operating income alongside Direct-to-Consumer revenue and operating income. Stronger licensing with steady or rising Honey Birdette sales would show royalties expanding while the lingerie business holds up; weaker licensing or falling Honey Birdette sales would show the licensing shift has not offset pressure on consumer products.

Victoria’s Secret’s report will show how lingerie demand is holding up, giving Playboy a read on the market Honey Birdette sells into.
Watch Victoria’s Secret’s lingerie sales. Stronger sales would suggest consumers are still spending on intimates, supporting demand in the category behind all of Playboy’s Direct-to-Consumer business; weaker sales would point to a tougher market for Honey Birdette’s core products.
