Perma-Fix Environmental Services, Inc. serves government agencies, commercial companies, utilities and research institutions that need to manage radioactive or hazardous waste. Most revenue comes from treating, processing and disposing of waste through its licensed facilities, with government-generated waste providing the largest share. A smaller business charges customers for radiation surveys, engineering, cleanup and support for shutting down nuclear facilities and ending their licenses.
Most revenue ultimately comes from U.S. federal government work, particularly for the Department of Energy and Department of War. Perma-Fix works directly for agencies and as a subcontractor to their contractors. That makes federal cleanup budgets and procurement timing central to its business; government contracts generally allow termination for convenience. It also needs new projects to replace completed work. Its waste operations depend on maintaining environmental permits and radioactive-material licenses, and on access to the limited disposal sites that accept its nuclear waste.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Perma-Fix’s results depend chiefly on federal nuclear-cleanup funding and U.S. Department of Energy decisions on when and how much Hanford DFLAW waste arrives for treatment, not just the broader hazardous-waste market.
Clean Harbors competes with Perma-Fix for commercial and government cleanup spending: both treat and dispose of hazardous waste and offer PFAS waste-treatment services. Watch Clean Harbors’ Total PFAS Solutions business for signs of demand in a market Perma-Fix is only beginning to commercialize its destruction technology in.

Clean Harbors’ report will show how customer spending on hazardous-waste and PFAS treatment is changing in markets where it competes with Perma-Fix.
Look at Clean Harbors’ Total PFAS Solutions business alongside its hazardous-waste treatment activity. Strength in both would show customers are paying for treatment that Perma-Fix also seeks to provide; weakness in PFAS or hazardous-waste services would suggest less demand or a tougher market for Perma-Fix to commercialize its newer technology.
Perma-Fix Environmental Services, Inc. earningsThis company
Perma-Fix’s report will show whether higher waste volumes and a richer customer mix are generating enough profit to cover treatment costs and the company’s operating expenses.
Read Treatment revenue alongside its gross margin, then compare Services revenue with the company’s operating loss. Higher Treatment revenue and margin with a narrower operating loss would show that waste processing is contributing more toward company costs; revenue growth without a better margin, or another Services decline, would show that activity has not yet translated into steadier overall economics.
