Company

Company overview

Processa Pharmaceuticals is a clinical-stage drug developer focused on changing how established cancer medicines are processed in the body. It aims to increase cancer cells’ exposure to active ingredients while reducing exposure in healthy cells and toxicity; those benefits are not yet established. Its lead program, NGC-Cap, is in a Phase 2 trial comparing it with capecitabine alone in advanced or metastatic breast cancer. NGC-Iri remains in preclinical development.

Processa has no approved medicines or products to sell. Its only disclosed revenue came from a binding term sheet with Intact, rather than drug sales, and it has no contracted revenue or immediate sales prospects. Future revenue depends on developing drugs that can be licensed or sold after the necessary testing and approvals. It is also seeking licensing or partnership opportunities for its non-cancer candidates. Continuing development requires additional financing.

The company licenses important drug rights from other businesses. Elion Oncology supplies the license underlying NGC-Cap and is entitled to milestone payments, royalties and a share of certain sublicensing receipts. Elion has purported to terminate that license; Processa disputes the termination in ongoing litigation. Losing the rights could prevent it from commercializing the affected product.

Processa's results hinge on financing and its NGC-Cap breast-cancer trial, whose PCS6422 component is licensed from Elion Oncology, rather than on the operating performance of the companies in this list.
