Company

Company overview

Optimi Health Corp. grows psilocybin-containing mushrooms and processes them into drug ingredients and capsules at its facilities in British Columbia, Canada. It also makes MDMA capsules using ingredients from qualified suppliers. Drug-product sales and intellectual-property licensing account for most of its revenue; its former main business, mushroom-based natural health products, is being permanently wound down.

Its current commercial drug supply goes only to Australia, where authorized psychiatrists can prescribe MDMA for post-traumatic stress disorder and psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression. KMT Pharmaceuticals buys its capsules for Australian distribution, with Mind Medicine Australia guaranteeing KMT’s payments and coordinating distribution and patients through clinics and hospitals. The KMT agreement generally prevents Optimi from supplying other Australian buyers outside clinical trials, but requires no minimum purchases. Sales therefore depend on orders through this partner, not a guaranteed volume. Optimi also supplies research clients; those clients, rather than Optimi, conduct clinical trials.

Production and exports depend on Canadian drug-establishment and controlled-substance licences, plus export and destination-country import permits for each shipment. Canadian patient access is through the Special Access Program; access in other countries outside Australia is restricted to approved clinical trials. The United States is a planned market, not an open commercial market: MDMA and psilocybin remain Schedule I controlled substances there, and medical sales require regulatory approval and rescheduling.
