Company

Company overview

OneConstruction Group operates through its Hong Kong subsidiary OneC Engineering, which prepares and assembles steel frames, trusses and other components to contractors’ specifications. Its customers are mainly general building contractors, rather than governments or property developers directly. It bids for projects using estimated costs plus a markup, then receives progress payments for completed work. The final contract value depends on the quantities actually completed and clients’ instructions.

Almost all revenue comes from public-sector construction projects. Revenue is concentrated among a handful of contractors, with the largest client contributing more than the rest combined. The business therefore depends heavily on those clients continuing their projects and paying for the work, as well as government funding and project decisions. Most contracts are won through competitive bidding and do not automatically renew, so OneC Engineering must keep winning replacement work.

Profitability depends on estimating project costs accurately, controlling steel, labor and subcontracting costs, and finishing on schedule. OneC Engineering must also maintain the qualifications, licenses and registrations required in Hong Kong to undertake its construction work.
