Company

Company overview

Oriental Culture Holding helps individual and institutional customers list and trade artwork, collectibles and certain commodities through platforms operated by its Hong Kong subsidiaries. Customers pay for account management, storing their items and arranging listings and trades. Account-management fees are its largest revenue source; trading and listing fees now contribute a smaller share.

It also maintains systems and provides technical support for e-commerce platform customers. These services and account management together generate most revenue, and all technical-service revenue comes from related parties. All revenue is generated in mainland China, and one customer supplies a substantial share.

The business depends on retaining customers, attracting items to list and customers’ willingness to trade. Physical items trade as whole objects, not publicly offered fractional shares. The company does not set trading prices or access customers’ money, and customers cannot trade with borrowed funds through the platform. It says it holds the approvals required for its current mainland business, but whether mainland trading-platform rules could extend to its Hong Kong platforms remains uncertain.
