Company

Company overview

NanoViricides is a clinical-stage drug developer whose leading candidate, NV-387, is designed to imitate structures on human cells that viruses attach to, so it can bind and destroy virus particles. Its development focus includes Mpox, Ebola and respiratory viral infections. It has no approved drugs, customers or revenue and has funded development by selling shares.

The company seeks pharmaceutical partners to fund further development and bring its drugs to market, potentially paying NanoViricides license fees, development milestones and sales royalties. In India, Karveer Meditech (KMPL) holds a limited license for its COVID-treatment candidates NV-CoV-2 and NV-CoV-2-R. NanoViricides reimburses KMPL’s development and trial costs and receives trial reports usable outside India; KMPL would pay it royalties if an approved drug reaches commercial sales.

The business depends on technology licensed from related party TheraCour Pharma, with exclusive rights limited to specified viral-disease fields. NanoViricides pays TheraCour for development work and would owe sales royalties after commercialization. Advancing the candidates also requires outside clinical-trial providers and additional funding. Commercial sales depend on demonstrating safety and effectiveness and obtaining regulatory approval.
