Company

Company overview

Fish buyers place orders with Nocera’s Taiwan operation, NTB, specifying the products and quality they need. NTB then arranges harvesting, checks the fish against those requirements and coordinates delivery. Customers pay for the fish supplied; this trading business accounts for nearly all revenue from Nocera’s continuing segments.

Its smaller e-commerce business, Xinca, helps third-party sellers sell products through live-streaming platforms and earns commissions without owning the goods. Nocera also designs systems that recirculate water for fish farming and advises customers on their manufacture and installation. It no longer produces and sells those systems in bulk, and it has sold its former catering business.

Revenue is concentrated among five customers: Sano Morio, Handou Syuji, Ming-Chi Chen, Kai-Ling Chen and Sano Morimoto. The business also depends partly on eel prices, which can fluctuate substantially. Nocera has limited revenue-producing operations and depends on generating operating cash and obtaining financing to continue operating and carry out its full business plan.

Nocera’s results depend mainly on eel supply, customer demand and trading margins in Taiwan and Japan, rather than aquaculture construction or egg prices.
