LKQ Corporation supplies the parts businesses need to repair and maintain vehicles. It buys new parts from aftermarket suppliers and dismantles total-loss vehicles to recover reusable parts, selling these alongside reconditioned products. Repair shops and car dealerships pay LKQ for parts delivered through its distribution network; it also sells through other distributors and to retail customers. Europe is its largest business, including LKQ Euro Car Parts, while North American businesses include Keystone and Bumper to Bumper. Together, Europe and North America generate most revenue.
Its smaller Specialty business sells vehicle accessories for uses such as towing, off-road driving and recreational vehicles, with brands including Warn and TrailFX. Nearly all company revenue comes from parts, vehicle products and related services rather than recycling byproducts.
Demand depends on collisions, mechanical failures and routine maintenance. Insurers influence which collision parts repair shops use, even though they do not buy the parts directly. LKQ also relies on imported aftermarket parts and access to salvage vehicles, much of which comes through a concentrated auction market. Its ability to sell alternatives to vehicle manufacturers’ original parts depends on acceptance by repairers and insurers and on legal permission: some jurisdictions require owner consent or certification, or restrict certain salvaged parts.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
LKQ’s results depend chiefly on maintenance demand from vehicles already on the road, especially in Europe, and on collision-repair volumes and insurers’ acceptance of alternative parts.
Genuine Parts competes with LKQ for repair-shop and dealership spending on replacement parts in North America and Europe. Watch its automotive parts sales to commercial customers for a read on the repair demand that also supports LKQ.
PPG Industries and LKQ both depend on collision-repair spending: PPG sells coatings to repaint vehicles, while LKQ supplies replacement parts and body-repair paint products for the same repairs. Demand for PPG’s automotive refinish coatings offers a read on activity that also drives LKQ’s collision-parts sales.

Genuine Parts' report will show whether repair shops and dealerships are still buying automotive parts in North America and Europe, where their spending also supports LKQ's replacement-parts business.
Watch Genuine Parts' automotive parts sales to commercial customers. Stronger sales suggest repair shops and dealerships are still buying parts, a supportive demand backdrop for LKQ; weaker sales point to tighter spending by those customers and more pressure on LKQ to win orders. The companies' sales are not the same, but this tests their shared repair-parts demand.
PPG Industries, Inc. earningsPPG
PPG Industries' report will show whether demand for automotive refinish coatings is holding up, a signal of collision-repair activity that also drives LKQ's collision-parts sales.
Watch demand for PPG Industries' automotive refinish coatings. Stronger demand suggests collision repairs and repainting are holding up, supporting the market for LKQ's collision parts; weaker demand points to less of that repair activity and potential pressure on LKQ's collision-parts sales. Coatings and parts serve the same repair process, so the report tests whether collision demand is firm.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
The Fed’s policy rate—the rate that guides borrowing costs—matters to LKQ because changes in rates can raise or lower interest paid on its variable-rate debt, leaving more or less cash for operations and investment.

If it comes in above expectations
If the policy rate is higher than expected, interest costs on LKQ’s variable-rate borrowings may rise, leaving less cash for its parts distribution and other operations or investment.
If it comes in below expectations
If the policy rate is below expectations, interest costs on LKQ’s variable-rate borrowings may ease, leaving more cash for its parts distribution and other operations or investment.

LKQ's report will show whether repair shops and dealerships are buying enough replacement parts and maintenance products to steady its North America and Europe businesses.
Read parts-and-services revenue in North America and Europe alongside the smaller Specialty business. If North America and Europe stop declining while Specialty grows, LKQ's main parts-distribution business is stabilizing; if both larger segments keep falling, Specialty growth is not offsetting weakness in the core. That shows whether improvement is reaching LKQ's main business.
