Eastman Kodak’s largest business supplies commercial printing companies. Prepress Solutions, which sells offset printing plates and equipment that transfers digital images onto them, accounts for most company revenue. Each printing run needs a new plate, bringing repeat orders. Its KODAK SONORA plates can go onto a press without a separate processing step.
Kodak also sells PROSPER inkjet presses and print-head components, including components used in other manufacturers’ systems. These sales lead to ongoing purchases of ink, primers and service; the recurring revenue depends on how much customers print and how much ink their work uses.
Film and chemicals form another substantial business, serving still photography, motion pictures and industrial uses such as making printed circuit boards. Kodak Alaris buys still-photographic film and chemicals and supplies a large share of this segment’s revenue; it is also Kodak’s largest customer overall. Separately, third parties pay royalties and upfront fees to put the Kodak brand on their own products, including cameras, which they sell through their own distribution channels.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Eastman Kodak’s results depend chiefly on commercial-printing volumes and printing-plate pricing against rivals such as Fuji, alongside photographic-film purchases by its major customer Kodak Alaris.

Kodak’s report will show whether sales of plates, inks and services can steady its Print revenue and improve profit in its largest segment.
Read Print revenue alongside the segment’s operating profit—the amount left after its operating costs. Steady or rising revenue with stronger profit would show that customer purchases and continued use of consumables and services are supporting the business. Further revenue declines or persistently thin profit would show that pressure remains in Print, and growth in Advanced Materials and Chemicals or Brand has not removed that drag.
