Company

Company overview

J and Friends Holdings Limited serves small and medium-sized restaurants and retailers, with substantially all current operations in Australia. Its software helps merchants manage their businesses and accept payments across stores, websites and mobile channels. The company exited its former mainland China financial-solutions business in 2025; its current merchant business is still at an early stage.

Payment platforms pay the company incentives linked to transactions generated by merchants it refers, making payment solutions its largest revenue source. Merchants also pay for cloud-software subscriptions and in-store hardware. Monthly subscription charges are waived when a merchant reaches its contractual transaction-volume threshold. The company additionally develops software that customers can use to launch their own branded checkout platforms. The payment-platform incentive model currently applies only in Australia.

Revenue depends on retaining merchants, their transaction activity and continued cooperation with third-party payment partners. Its five largest customers supply a substantial share of revenue, making those relationships important as well. Because the business is concentrated in Australia, consumer spending and the health of local small businesses strongly affect demand.
