JBDI Holdings Limited supplies industrial containers through its Singapore operating subsidiaries. Customers in the solvent, chemical, petroleum and edible-oil industries buy its steel and plastic drums and other containers. JBDI buys used containers, removes residues and labels, cleans and repairs them, and sells them for reuse. It also buys new containers for resale. Reconditioned containers generate most revenue, with new-container sales contributing a smaller share.
Customers can also pay JBDI to recondition containers they already own, collect and dispose of toxic industrial waste, or collect and deliver containers. The company sells recovered containers and other recyclable materials to recycling companies.
The business depends heavily on Singapore demand and repeat orders, rather than long-term customer contracts. A small group of major customers contributes a substantial share of sales. JBDI also needs a supply of suitable used containers at workable prices; it has no long-term contracts with major suppliers. Handling hazardous materials requires licenses and permits, and losing these approvals can restrict its operations.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
JBDI’s results depend chiefly on Singapore demand for reconditioned industrial containers and the cost of buying used drums, so global packaging company Greif, Inc. offers only a partial comparison.
Greif, Inc. shares JBDI’s exposure to chemical, petroleum and food-related customers buying steel drums, plastic drums and large bulk containers (IBCs), but JBDI focuses on reconditioned containers in Singapore. Watch Greif’s metal and plastic packaging sales for clues to demand from those customers, rather than treating its global business as a direct guide to JBDI.

Greif’s report will show how demand for metal and plastic packaging is moving among chemical, petroleum and food-related customers, offering JBDI a clue to container demand in those industries.
Watch the direction of Greif’s metal and plastic packaging sales. Stronger sales would suggest steadier container demand among these industries’ customers, a supportive signal for JBDI, which mainly sells reconditioned containers in Singapore. Weaker sales could point to fewer customer orders and more demand pressure for JBDI. Greif operates globally, so its results are a clue, not a direct measure of JBDI’s Singapore sales.
