Company

Company overview

Immix Biopharma is developing NXC-201 for patients whose AL amyloidosis has returned or has not responded to treatment. NXC-201 modifies a patient’s own immune cells to target BCMA, an approach called CAR-T therapy. It is in clinical trials in the United States and abroad; the company also has other candidates in preclinical development.

The company has no approved products and earns no revenue from product sales, collaborations or licensing. Investors have supplied most of its funding through equity and convertible debt. The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine also reimburses eligible NXC-201 trial costs through a grant tied mainly to patient-enrollment milestones and requiring company co-funding. Immix needs additional financing to complete development. Future product revenue depends on successful trials, regulatory approval and commercialization, including adequate insurance coverage and reimbursement.

Immix licenses the anti-BCMA CAR-T invention from Hadasit and BIRAD. Its exclusive license excludes Israel, Cyprus and other Middle Eastern countries and requires license payments, milestones and royalties on future sales. Outside manufacturers supply its trial materials, and it expects to use third parties for commercial manufacturing and sales if a product is approved.

Immix’s prospects hinge on NXC-201 trial outcomes in AL amyloidosis, where Janssen/Johnson & Johnson and Alexion/AstraZeneca are important competitors missing from this list.

  • Kyverna Therapeutics, Inc. competes with Immix in developing modified immune-cell treatments, called CAR-T therapies, for immune-mediated diseases, with manufacturing speed and treatment tolerability central to both approaches. Watch whether Kyverna’s whole-blood-based KYV-102 delivers its intended shorter manufacturing turnaround; Kyverna had no approved products or product-sales revenue through December 31, 2025.

  • Cabaletta Bio, Inc. competes with Immix to develop treatments that modify T cells for immune-mediated diseases, so successful development and approval could challenge Immix’s commercial opportunity. Cabaletta has not generated product-sales revenue and does not expect any for several years, if ever; its clinical-stage T-cell programs, rather than sales, are what to watch.

  • Fate Therapeutics, Inc. offers a competing development approach for immune-mediated diseases: engineered immune cells prepared in advance, rather than Immix’s CAR-T cells made from each patient’s own cells. Watch its platform’s ability to mass-produce uniform T-cell and NK-cell candidates and store them for off-the-shelf use—the practical contrast with Immix’s patient-specific NXC-201.

  • Cullinan Therapeutics, Inc. develops drugs that bring T cells into contact with target immune cells—T-cell engagers—offering an alternative to Immix’s modified-cell approach for immune-cell depletion in autoimmune diseases. Watch CLN-978’s clinical progress, particularly whether it delivers Cullinan’s proposed advantages of off-the-shelf use without chemotherapy to deplete lymphocytes or restrictions to certified treatment centers.
