IHS Holding Limited provides places for mobile network operators to install antennas and related equipment, along with site power and supporting services. Operators pay recurring fees under long-term agreements for the space and power they need, and pay more when they add equipment or services. IHS brings additional operators onto existing towers and builds new sites after securing an initial tenant’s long-term commitment. Sharing a tower adds rental income without a proportionate increase in site costs.
Nigeria supplies most of the revenue from continuing operations, with the rest coming from other sub-Saharan African markets. MTN’s operating companies supply most of that revenue, making their demand, payments and contract renewals central to the business. MTN Group is also an IHS shareholder. IHS is in the process of selling its Latin American tower and fiber operations; its Brazilian fiber business, I-Systems, rents infrastructure primarily to TIM Brasil for residential broadband.
Keeping sites powered is a major part of the work because grid electricity is unreliable in many of its markets. Power generation is its largest single operating cost, and contracts allow IHS to pass on only some cost increases. Site construction and operation also require local permits and licenses; authorities can restrict access or require unlicensed towers to be dismantled.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
IHS depends heavily on African mobile operators including MTN, whose proposed acquisition of IHS makes merger approvals and completion of the Latin American disposals important share-price drivers.
American Tower competes directly with IHS for mobile operators’ tower-space rent in Nigeria and South Africa. Watch its Nigerian contract wins and renewals with MTN: MTN previously selected American Tower to serve sites owned and managed by IHS, before renewing some tenancies with IHS.
Array Digital Infrastructure, Inc. shares IHS’s growth driver: mobile operators pay recurring rent for tower space, and adding tenants or network equipment brings more revenue, although Array operates in the United States rather than Africa. Watch Array’s revenue from tenants adding equipment or taking space on existing towers as a comparison for IHS’s own rental growth.

American Tower’s report will show how it is winning and renewing mobile-operator tower leases in Nigeria, where it competes with IHS for carriers’ rental business.
Look for American Tower’s disclosed Nigerian leasing and renewal activity, including any detail it reports about MTN. These are American Tower’s leases, not IHS’s results. More tenants or renewals would show American Tower gaining ground in the contest for mobile-operator rental business, potentially raising the pressure on IHS to win or keep leases. Weaker leasing could point to softer tower-space demand, but would not prove that IHS has seen the same change.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
For IHS, the Fed’s decision on short-term U.S. interest rates matters because it can change the interest paid on borrowings that reset with rates and the cost of new debt.

If it comes in above expectations
If the Fed holds rates higher than expected or raises them, IHS may pay more interest on floating-rate debt as it reprices, leaving less operating cash for investment or debt service.
If it comes in below expectations
If the Fed holds rates lower than expected or cuts them, IHS may pay less interest as floating-rate debt reprices, leaving more operating cash for investment or debt service.

IHS’s report will show whether new tenants and existing tenants taking more space are lifting tower rent in Nigeria and the rest of sub-Saharan Africa, and whether power and other costs are eating into that growth.
Read lease revenue alongside tenant count and the colocation rate. If tenants and colocations rise with lease revenue, added space is turning into rent; if lease revenue grows mainly through price escalations or currency resets while tenant measures weaken, growth is less broad-based. Then check the adjusted EBITDA margin: adjusted EBITDA is a non-IFRS measure that excludes specified items, and the margin is that measure as a share of revenue. Revenue growth with a steady margin means revenue is outpacing costs; a narrowing margin means power and other costs are absorbing more of the gain. Nigeria supplies most continuing-operations revenue, and customers are highly concentrated, so changes there carry particular weight.
