Company

Company overview

Hongli Group’s Chinese operating entities turn steel into specially shaped components that machinery makers need for their designs. They form steel to customer specifications, then perform further work such as cutting, welding and assembly before selling the finished profiles. Agricultural machinery and mining and excavation equipment account for most sales, including components for cabs and rollover protection structures.

Most revenue comes from China. LOVOL, XCMG and South Korean VOLVO together supply most sales, so their machinery orders strongly influence the business. These major customers do not have long-term contracts. Steel is the principal raw material, and higher steel costs can reduce earnings when the manufacturers cannot pass them on to customers.

Hongli Group itself is a Cayman Islands holding company with no material operations. It relies on contracts with Hongli Shandong and its shareholders rather than equity ownership of the Chinese operating entities. Cash reaching the holding company depends on payments under those arrangements and subsidiary distributions, which Chinese profit-distribution and currency-remittance rules restrict. The factories must also comply with environmental requirements covering emissions and waste; noncompliance can lead to suspension or closure.

Hongli Group’s results hinge on agricultural and excavation machinery orders, especially from LOVOL, XCMG and South Korean VOLVO, and on steel input costs—not on the companies in this list.

    Fed Interest Rate Decision

Hongli Group makes custom steel profiles for machinery and equipment, and Fed rate decisions track the cost of borrowing across the economy, which could affect what it pays on bank loans used largely to buy raw materials if its borrowing rates move with them.
