Highway Holdings Ltd supplies manufacturers with parts for products such as printers, vacuum cleaners and household appliances. It generally starts by designing and making customer-specific production tooling: customers pay for and own the tooling, while Highway Holdings stores and maintains it to manufacture their orders. Metal stamping and mechanical products bring in the larger share of sales; plastic and electronic components, including motors, account for nearly all the rest.
Customers are mainly in Europe, and three customers supply most of the revenue. Orders follow short delivery schedules rather than firm long-term commitments. Customers can change or cancel longer-term forecasts without penalty, so materials bought in anticipation of orders can be left unused.
Nissin PRC in Shenzhen handles design, tooling, engineering and automated production, while Kayser Myanmar in Yangon handles most labor-intensive manufacturing and assembly. The company also owns a controlling stake in German manufacturer Regent-Feinbau, which makes precision sheet-metal components and welded assemblies.
This production setup depends on keeping customer orders and access to workable factory locations. Some major customers have reduced orders for Myanmar-made products amid concerns about the country’s unrest and policies. Shenzhen operations face tighter inspections and regulatory burdens. In Myanmar, duty-free imports require customs contracts or bonded-warehouse arrangements; noncompliance can lead to import restrictions or loss of duty-free import and export access.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Highway Holdings’ results hinge on orders from three manufacturing customers accounting for 80.4% of sales, predominantly European demand, and those customers’ willingness to source production from China and Myanmar.
