Company

Company overview

Harte Hanks serves businesses and government organizations that outsource work involved in finding customers, supporting them and delivering products. Fulfillment and logistics is its largest revenue source: it prints and distributes marketing materials, assembles product kits, fulfills orders and arranges freight. Clients generally pay its fulfillment centers per transaction. Customer care is the next-largest business, handling customer inquiries and maintaining self-service tools; clients pay for ongoing support and transactions. Together, these businesses generate most revenue.

Its smaller Revenue Solutions business helps clients identify potential buyers, run marketing campaigns and support sales teams. Clients can buy individual projects or ongoing services, covering one part of their operations or several connected activities.

Revenue depends heavily on a concentrated group of large clients and the work they continue to order. Most contracts do not require minimum purchases and can be canceled on short notice with little or no penalty. Marketing work also depends on clients’ discretionary budgets. Its data-based services rely on access to consumer information, while privacy and direct-marketing laws restrict how it may collect, use and transfer that information.

Know what’s buried in HHS’s filings before you buy

The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
