Company

Company overview

Gulf Resources operates in China, where its subsidiaries extract bromine and produce and trade crude salt. Customers in China buy these products; bromine supplies most revenue, with crude salt contributing a smaller share. The company has sold its products only in China.

A small group of customers accounts for most sales, including Shandong Morui Chemical Company Limited and Shandong Brother Technology Limited. The company also relies on a small group of suppliers for all raw materials used in bromine and crude-salt production. Its ability to produce depends on government permissions: Shandong restricts bromine extraction to licensed operators, and the required bromine and salt production license undergoes annual review. Failure to pass can halt production until the company meets the requirements.

Chemical products and natural gas are not currently revenue sources. Gulf Resources sold its chemical-products subsidiary, Shouguang Yuxin Chemical Industry Co., Limited, in December 2025. Its Sichuan subsidiary is pursuing permits to mine natural gas and halogen water.

Gulf Resources’ results hinge on Chinese bromine prices, production volumes, local operating approvals and demand from a concentrated group of Chinese chemical customers—not on the diversified chemical companies supplied for comparison.
