Flotek Industries develops, manufactures and supplies chemicals for energy and industrial customers, along with delivery and technical services. Its Chemistry Technologies business generates most revenue, chiefly from customers providing hydraulic-fracturing services. Demand therefore depends heavily on oil and gas drilling and well-completion activity. Some states require disclosure of fracturing chemical formulations, which can expose its proprietary formulas.
ProFrac Services buys chemicals under a long-term supply agreement. If it purchases less than the contractual minimum, it owes Flotek a shortfall payment. Together, this agreement and equipment leases to ProFrac affiliates account for most of Flotek’s revenue, making those related-party customers’ commitments and timely payments central to the business.
The smaller Data Analytics business sells and rents equipment, including Verax analyzers, that measures the quality, quantity and composition of flowing hydrocarbons so customers can monitor and control operations in near real time. Flotek also owns and leases mobile power-generation assets to ProFrac GDM; these assets use field gas, supported by continuous gas-quality measurement, to replace diesel.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Flotek’s results depend heavily on ProFrac’s chemical purchases, payments for purchase shortfalls and power-equipment rentals, as well as broader oil and gas well-completion activity.
ProFrac Holding Corp. ties Flotek’s revenue directly to its fracturing work for North American unconventional oil and gas producers, buying Flotek’s completion chemicals under a long-term minimum-purchase agreement and supporting its power-equipment rental business. Watch its chemical purchases alongside shortfall payments: Flotek recorded $27.4 million in fees for unmet purchase commitments in 2025, so that revenue was not all backed by chemical sales.
EIA Crude Oil Stocks Change (Oct/16)
Flotek’s chemistry programs and flow-measurement services depend on oil and gas customers’ activity, so weekly US crude and fuel stock levels—which indicate how tight supply is against demand—can affect what customers spend on its products and services.
Read rising crude and fuel stocks as a sign of looser supply that may weaken oil prices and customer activity, putting Flotek product and service purchases at risk; falling stocks suggest tighter supply that may support activity and those purchases.

Flotek Industries’ report will show whether chemical sales and equipment rentals are increasingly supported by customer activity rather than ProFrac’s payments for unmet purchase commitments.
Read chemical sales and rental revenue alongside fees for missed minimum purchases. Growth in sales and rentals with lower fees would show that ProFrac’s operating activity is supporting Flotek’s revenue. If fees remain important while sales or rentals weaken, revenue still depends heavily on payments from this related-party customer, making its activity and ability to pay central risks.
ProFrac Holding Corp. earningsACDC
ProFrac Holding Corp.’s report will show whether its fracturing work is supporting chemical purchases and power-equipment rental demand that feed Flotek Industries’ revenue.
Read ProFrac’s fracturing activity alongside its chemical purchases, and whether purchases still fall short of commitments and trigger fees. Stronger activity and purchases would show that operating work is driving Flotek’s chemical sales and may support its power-equipment rentals. Weak purchases with fees still important would mean more of Flotek’s related revenue comes from contractual payments than from chemicals actually delivered.
