Evogene helps partners find and refine molecules for potential medicines and agricultural chemicals. After narrowing its business, it now focuses on ChemPass AI, which designs and screens molecules computationally; laboratory testing checks their biological activity. Partners typically lead experimental development and pay for research, licensing rights and progress toward agreed milestones. Outside castor-seed sales, revenue comes mainly from subsidiary AgPlenus’s weed-control collaboration with Bayer and on-farm cultivation services.
The business is still largely in development. Evogene earns no royalties, and its candidates have not reached commercial sale except for Casterra’s castor varieties. Turning discoveries into royalty-paying products depends on partners continuing development, meeting milestones and obtaining required regulatory approvals.
Casterra provides a separate sales business: it sells proprietary castor seeds and cultivation solutions for industrial castor-oil production. Its customer ENI Kenya buys seeds for biofuel feedstock cultivation, but had placed no further orders by the annual report date after receiving earlier backlog deliveries. Casterra has shifted most of its efforts toward Brazil as its principal African customer reduced activity.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Evogene’s results depend more on Bayer’s AgPlenus collaboration, new ChemPass AI licensing deals and Casterra seed orders—including whether ENI resumes purchases—than on broad agricultural-stock performance.
Corteva previously funded a collaboration with Evogene that ended in 2024, so it matters as a former paying partner rather than an ongoing revenue source. Corteva sells seeds and crop protection to farmers; watch its investment in new crop-protection technology for clues to demand for Evogene’s partner-funded work using ChemPass AI to identify and improve product candidates.
Corteva, Inc. earningsCTVA
Corteva’s report will show whether the former Evogene partner is still investing in new crop-protection technology, a clue to demand for ChemPass-funded research collaborations.
Look at Corteva’s investment in new crop-protection technology alongside its related business results. Continued investment would suggest agricultural-chemical companies still want to develop new products, supporting potential demand for ChemPass work that identifies and improves candidates; weaker investment would point to fewer openings for funded collaborations. Corteva’s Evogene collaboration ended in 2024, so this is not a measure of current Evogene revenue.
EVOGENE LTD. earningsThis company
Evogene’s report will show whether AgPlenus’s collaboration work and Casterra’s castor-seed sales can support the company’s ChemPass AI-focused operations.
Read revenue alongside cash used by operations. Higher revenue with a narrower operating cash outflow would show that collaborations and seed sales are better supporting the leaner business; weak revenue or continued heavy cash use would show that Evogene still needs cost cuts or financing to keep operating.
