Company

Company overview

Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp.’s core operating assets are South Korean manufacturers Handa Lab, KCM Industry, KMMI and NS World. Their commercial-scale facilities process rare-earth materials into metals, alloys and powders, then permanent magnets. The business earns money by selling intermediate materials and finished products for industrial use, including to magnet manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers.

The company plans to extend this manufacturing chain in the United States by recovering useful materials from discarded electronics, spent magnets and batteries. Its U.S. campus is under development, and its planned battery-recycling facility has not begun operating. Battery recycling would produce materials for battery manufacturers, while electronic-scrap processing would recover rare earths and metals for further manufacturing or sale to smelters and refineries.

These plans depend on outside suppliers: the company has no long-term electronic-scrap supply contracts and no spent-battery supply agreements. It also needs additional financing to support operations and expansion. New processing capacity depends on obtaining permits and meeting environmental, hazardous-waste and worker-safety requirements.

EM&T's results hinge on its Korean rare-earth processing and magnet operations, securing recyclable feedstock and delivering its planned U.S. manufacturing expansion—not on the battery-system businesses supplied for comparison.
