Company

Company overview

EpicQuest Education Group International Limited serves students seeking language skills, college qualifications and career training. Most customers live in China. Davis University, which the company controls, generates most of its revenue through education and professional-training programs. Tuition and academic-program fees are the largest source of revenue across the group; Davis also pays tuition fees to partner universities involved in delivering its programs.

Its subsidiary Quest Holding International (QHI) recruits international students for the English Language Center at Miami University Regional Campuses. QHI provides free pre-enrollment guidance and helps students with accommodation, meals and academic support after arrival. It relies on Miami University to deliver the language program and pays partner-university fees generally set per student per semester. EpicQuest also owns Canada's EduGlobal College, which offers English and academic programs.

The business depends on attracting students and maintaining university partnerships. EpicQuest uses study-abroad agents to recruit students and pays commissions on new enrollments. Its international-study business also depends on students securing admission and maintaining permission to study in the United States: visa and international-student rules can prevent students from enrolling or continuing their studies.

EpicQuest’s results depend chiefly on Chinese student enrollment in Davis University’s professional and college programs, while its partnerships with Miami University and Peking University also shape program delivery and margins.

  • New Oriental and EpicQuest both depend on Chinese students’ demand for overseas education, and New Oriental also helps bring students into EpicQuest’s North American programs. It sells overseas-test preparation and study-abroad counseling to students, making demand for those services worth watching for EpicQuest’s recruitment.
