Dare Bioscience focuses on women’s health, developing treatments and bringing products to market through other companies rather than its own manufacturing facilities or sales force. Much of its portfolio remains in development and needs regulatory approval before sale.
Its early commercial push includes DARE to PLAY, a prescription sildenafil cream for women’s sexual health. Patients obtain a prescription and pay out of pocket, without insurance reimbursement. Bravado makes the cream, while Medvantx dispenses it, collects patient payments and sends Dare its share after pharmacy fees; Dare also owes third-party royalties. Initial dispensing and sales were still planned, with manufacturing-process validation unfinished. DARE to PLAY is a compounded drug, not an FDA-approved medicine. Its supply depends on state licenses and on sildenafil citrate remaining eligible for use by the outsourcing facilities that compound it.
XACIATO, a prescription vaginal gel for bacterial vaginosis, is Dare’s only FDA-approved product. Organon holds exclusive worldwide rights and controls manufacturing and commercialization. Dare sold its rights to sales-based royalties and potential milestone payments, net of certain third-party obligations, to XOMA. Those payments go to XOMA until it reaches an agreed investment return; only afterward does Dare share in them. XACIATO therefore does not currently provide Dare with a sales-based income stream, and future income depends on Organon’s sales and the payment threshold being reached.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Daré’s results hinge on launching women’s-health products that patients pay for themselves and advancing its pipeline, while Organon controls XACIATO commercialization and XOMA holds much of the associated royalty economics.
Dare Bioscience, Inc. earningsThis company
Dare Bioscience’s report will show whether sales of DARE to PLAY and DARE to RESTORE are beginning to offset the cash the company spends.
Read revenue from these products alongside cash used in operations and cash on hand. Rising product revenue with contained cash use would show commercialization beginning to support a company that still needs outside funding. Little product revenue alongside continued cash outflow would show the launches have not yet relieved that funding need.
