Company

Company overview

Euro Tech Holdings helps businesses, laboratories and government agencies buy equipment for testing, monitoring and controlling water quality and industrial processes. Through its Hong Kong subsidiary Far East, it buys manufacturers’ products for resale, helps customers select equipment and provides technical and after-sales support. Distribution supplies most revenue, with scientific instruments the largest product category and power and process-control equipment another major line. Almost all revenue comes from mainland China and Hong Kong.

Water-treatment engineering is also a substantial business. Pact-Yixing supplies industrial water and wastewater-treatment projects, mainly to multinational manufacturers’ facilities in mainland China. It also manufactures systems that treat ships’ ballast water, selling to shipowners, shipyards and port operators. Engineering demand depends on customers funding environmental-compliance projects; ballast-water equipment demand is tied to maritime environmental rules. As vessel retrofit demand matures, the company plans to put more emphasis on port treatment systems.

The distribution business depends on access to manufacturers’ products, with Thermo Fisher Scientific Group and Stanford Research Systems among its largest suppliers. Some suppliers also sell directly to its customers or through competing distributors. A small group of customers supplies a substantial share of revenue. U.S. export controls can prohibit sales to restricted Chinese customers or require licenses for certain equipment, limiting which products the company can supply and to whom.

Euro Tech’s results depend on scientific-instrument spending in Hong Kong and mainland China, access to suppliers including Stanford Research Systems and Hach, and demand for industrial wastewater and ballast-water treatment.

  • Euro Tech depends on Thermo Fisher Scientific for scientific instruments to resell; Thermo Fisher accounted for 32% of its purchases in Fiscal 2025. Watch whether Euro Tech retains access to that supply, since losing a major supplier could hurt its instrument sales to government agencies, research institutions and laboratories.
