CollPlant Biotechnologies produces human collagen in genetically engineered tobacco plants for medical aesthetics, tissue repair and 3D bioprinting. It sells this material to STEMCELL Technologies for cell-culture media kits and sells Collink.3D bioinks to businesses and collaborators printing biological structures such as tissue scaffolds. It also develops collagen-based products, including breast implants made through 3D bioprinting.
Revenue depends heavily on development milestone payments from AbbVie, rather than product sales. Under an exclusive worldwide agreement for specified dermal and soft-tissue fillers, AbbVie develops products combining the companies’ technologies and runs the clinical trials. CollPlant receives payments when agreed milestones are met; the agreement also provides for collagen supply fees and royalties on future product sales. The filler remains in clinical development, with AbbVie reviewing interim trial results before deciding the next steps.
The business therefore depends on partners advancing development and bringing products through regulatory approval to market. CollPlant needs additional financing to sustain operations and product development, and further AbbVie payments are not assured. Past Israeli Innovation Authority grants also impose royalties and restrictions on moving grant-funded know-how or manufacturing outside Israel, with some actions requiring approval even after grants are repaid.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
CollPlant’s results hinge on AbbVie-led filler development and collagen commercialization, including its supply relationship with privately held STEMCELL Technologies, which is absent from this list.
CollPlant depends on AbbVie to develop aesthetic fillers using its collagen, with AbbVie paying development milestones, product royalties and collagen supply fees; AbbVie’s Allergan breast implants also compete with CollPlant’s implant pipeline. Watch AbbVie’s assessment of the filler trial’s first cohort: its $2 million development milestone accounted for most of CollPlant’s approximately $2.4 million revenue in 2025.
Establishment Labs sells Motiva silicone gel-filled breast implants that compete with the collagen-based regenerative implants CollPlant is developing. Its revenue comes mainly from implant sales through distributors and its direct sales force, making Motiva sales a useful window into the breast aesthetics and reconstruction market CollPlant aims to enter.
Stratasys contributes the printing technology that pairs with CollPlant’s collagen-based materials to develop bioprinted regenerative breast implants. Progress in their collaboration shows how the printers and collagen materials work together in CollPlant’s implant development.

If AbbVie updates its collagen-filler trials, its report will show how close the collaboration may be to further milestones and product income for CollPlant.
Look for whether AbbVie describes next steps after reviewing the first trial cohort and whether it continues the program. Progress could open a path to further development milestones and, if products are sold, royalties and collagen-supply fees for CollPlant; without a clear next step, those potential receipts remain uncertain, not recurring sales.
Establishment Labs Holdings Inc. earningsESTA
Establishment Labs’ Motiva implant sales will show how demand is holding up in the breast aesthetics and reconstruction market CollPlant aims to enter, as well as how its existing competitor is faring.
Watch Motiva implant sales and the company’s explanation of demand. Stronger sales would show demand in the target market, but also a competitor with momentum; weaker sales could signal a softer market, not that customers will switch to CollPlant’s still-developing collagen implants.

CollPlant’s report will show whether collagen-product sales are adding to revenue and whether cash use still leaves the business reliant on outside funding.
Separate product-sales revenue from partner milestone payments, then compare both with operating cash use. Rising product sales with narrower cash use would show commercial sales beginning to support the business; revenue still led by milestones alongside continued cash outflow would mean growth remains dependent on partner payments or new financing.
